Recce....pretty sure I'll go adrift somewhere between Earl Sterndale and Cumberland Cottage I just can't get it recced. We did go up the other week but the weather was horrendous, we had a drive and wandered in a couple of places but it just served to show how little I recall more than how much I know!! Hopefully I'll be fine this time after Cumberland after my massive cock-up(s) in 2012! :)
today I did the second of my 2 "recces"/training runs this year, which together cover Wheston to Walker Barn
I like to do the bits that'll be dark on the day (i.e. after Earl Sterndale in my case)
I know the route anyway, but it's nice to actually see the landscape, rather than just a pool of headtorch light
if you haven't recce'd, there are 2 or 3 places where it would be VERY easy to go wrong/lose time (even in daylight, let alone in the dark)
Suse and BritNick of here both going strong at Edale CP4 this afternoon (approx. 18 miles into 56 miles). Sue going through in about 3:15 and Nick in about 3:25 Hope they can keep going strong into the night and can avoid the clag that's floating about.
Well done James Scott-Buccleuch, home dry(ish) in 9:18.
Next 5 due in soon.

Myself 12.48. Might be my last run over this 'cos I think this might be my terminal speed for it, though I may walk again next year :)
