It might have been posted after the watershed, but I'm reading it at breakfast and nearly choked on my cornflakes. :D
I'm all in a fluster!

Wow. If this was a competition I would say that you just won with that choice. :) It is a tough one to follow but here goes.
I seek her in the shady grove,
And by the silent stream;
I seek her where my fancies rove,
In many a happy dream;
I seek her where I find her not,
In Spring and Summer weather:
My thoughts paint many a happy spot,
But we ne'er meet together.
The trees and bushes speak my choice,
And in the Summer shower
I often hear her pleasant voice,
In many a silent hour:
I see her in the Summer brook,
In blossoms sweet and fair;
In every pleasant place I look
My fancy paints her there.
The wind blows through the forest trees,
And cheers the pleasant day;
There her sweet voice is sure to be
To lull my cares away.
The very hedges find a voice,
So does the gurgling rill;
But still the object of my choice
Is lost and absent still.

Now I am six
A A Milne
When I was one,
I had just begun.
When I was two,
I was nearly new.
When I was three,
I was hardly me.
When I was four,
I was not much more.
When I was five,
I was just alive.
But now I am six,
I'm as clever as clever.
So I think I'll be six
now and forever.
Off to play "don't buzz the wire" before work!...have a nice day!
:)
Some great stuff being posted. Thanks guys!
Today's commute to work inspired haiku:

I Believe
I believe, that life is likened to, a
piece of fine crystal. It can be
beautiful, or in a moments notice,
be shattered, beyond repair.
If you do not believe in love at
first sight, believe...that perhaps,
your vision is impaired.
It matters not your age in life,
I believe love, should be
welcomed and treasured.
I believe that some things are better
kept to ones self.
I believe that there are rooms in life's
experience, that should not be entered.
Do you believe in your God? Do you
believe, that your religion is the right
religion? What do you believe of the
billions of people who do not believe,
as you believe?
I believe, it could not be, that one religion,
is the true way to worship.
I believe, in order for this to be a better
world, it must begin with each
of us trying to be better.
I believe that the billions, upon billions
of dollars spent on the machine of war,
could better be used for poor and
disenfranchised.
I believe in a new day’s discovery.
I believe, in the beauty of nature.
I believe, in the kiss of the rain.
I believe that true friends are rare.
I believe in charity, without recognition.
I believe, in extending a helping hand,
to those in need.
I believe, in preserving the dignity of humanity.
I believe in the innocence of children.
I believe that one, should never let their
heart, do their thinking.
I believe, in the goodness of humanity.
I believe, that true trust, is like interest
earned, on money in a bank... it comes
with the passing of time.
I believe in wisdom.
I believe in the beauty of a starlit sky.
I believe in promises kept.
I do not believe, that most dreams come true.
I do believe, that dreams can lead one
to the path, of ones inner desires.
I believe, that many listen, but do not hear.
I believe in honesty and integrity.
I believe, in a mother and father’s love.
I believe, in placing ones family first.
I believe that many successful people,
leave in their path, countless orphans
of success.
I believe, when the sickness is sadness,
laughter is the cure.
I believe, that a good work ethic, can
serve all of us well.
I believe in good wine and good friends.
I believe, in a time each day, to give thanks.
I believe in forgiveness.
I believe, if one can forgive a friend,
then surely, one can forgive family.
I believe in the power of the written word.
I still believe in hand written letters.
I believe the first cup of coffee in the
morning, is the best.
I believe...it's important to believe in
something you care about.
I believe, in sanctity of life.
I believe that each day of life, is
precious and a treasure of
unequalled value.

Happy birthday to all mini Freckles out there. Who won "buzz" then? :)
Early start, early finish me. Get my sleep while I can. I'll be posting all times of night and day shortly!
An early start means
Time for forum and running
Before it gets late
I feel I need to up my standard of haiku compared to some of these recent ones. It would be good to see a collection of the best in the next Fellrunner magazine.
Found this on Mud, Sweat and Tears
The Mountain
The mountain sat upon the plain
in his eternal chair,
his observation omnifold,
his inquest everywhere.
The seasons prayed around his knees,
like childeren round a shrine:
Grandfather of the days is he,
of dawn the ancestor.
Emily Dickinson
Your Attention Please!
I have entitled tonight's Haiku:
On Completing Hill Reps From Red Groves to Harberry Triangulation Point While Wearing Sodden (not sodding) Inov8s
If you are sitting comfortably I'll begin:
night fells by Tikka
seem much bloody steeper, why?
my friend, Mr Moon, smiles.
Thank you. Applause will not be necessary as my audiences are often left speechless and in awe.
