Just bettered previous score at Kinder Trial - 70 points please Daz. Quite pleased given that I've never done an orienteering event before, not have I run in snow (living in a city doesn't really afford me the opportunity so often). Next up, Lond Mynd.
Daz - hope you've had some positive outcomes with appointments and what not. Wishing you all the best with recovery & hope you get to make it on to the fells again in good time.
Daz, fingers crossed for a speedy return to the mud and hills for you!
Please sign me up again, didn't manage many races at all last year, spent most of it at Sheffield children's hospital, but here's hoping for a better go this year!

Hi Daz, 63 points for me at Long Mynd today please.
I have learnt that running on snow & ice is hard, the Long Mynd is hard but beautiful, & have been reminded that if I turn up to a race that Lloyd Taggart & Pete Vale are heading, I'm unlikely to scrape as many points as I'd like.
That's it for February - local XC on Sunday (which has enough accent to qualify as a cat C but I know the rules!) & Nationals the following Saturday, where I expect to finish outside the top 1000. March fell races - Flower Scar & Edale Skyline.

Official results not out yet but 96 points for me at Rombalds stride for 2:45 vs Graham Pearce's 2:38, which I was pretty damn please with :-)

A meagre 43 points from Rombalds Stride for me please Daz (my only race in Feb) - winner 2hrs 38mins, me 4hrs 08mins, still a great day out though! :)
Trollers Trot next for me.
Those winning Rombald's Stride times are unreal, phenomenal. The event certainly brings out the serious racing snakes. I was well chuffed with my 3:55, which turned out to be a PB in 16 completions since 2000 (and that included taking the wrong path off Baildon Moor AGAIN :mad:). 51 points please, Daz.

My Rombalds stride time was 3:02.
By my cal that's 182/158 = 87 points
It calculated like this Ben, 1-((182-158)/158) = 85

No mate, I was 6th...winner 3.45...my time 3.52. Should of pushed for 3rd but my legs give up on me from White Coppice. Like you say, it's a brilliant route. At 24.5 miles and 3500ft it's a good BL fell race with the added extra of food stations... beltin.Quote:

Ilkley Moor not my best performance - felt lousy & Simon Bailey flew round, so points tally feeble! Thankfully, managed to redeem myself somewhat at Midgley Moor last weekend, scoring 74 points (I clocked 49.48 against Runner A's 39.33)
March could be slim pickings, with just Hoppits Hill & the first of the Bunny Runs to count by the look of it.
Will be organising the Ian Roberts Memorial race this Sunday from Marsden Cricket Club, so all forumites very welcome - please make yourself known - I'll be the tall, greying, frazzled bloke in a Holmfirth Harriers hoody!

benshep - the scoring is done the same way as the Lakeland Classic series - basically a sliding scale from the winner's time down to zero for double the winner's time. Also, it's just the best race score per calendar month.
