I was drinking Carol Decker by Falstaff brewery, rather nice, I was wondering why they would name a beer after the lead singer of T'pau? Although it did have a ginger colour to it, maybe that was it :p

Pales today.
Ilkley - Pale. excellent. light cirtus and grassy palate. gentle bitterness.
Fyne Ales - Jarl. excellent. grapefruit and line in the mouth.
Buxton. Moor Top. cracker. bags of flavour, good malt background.
The Kernel. Simcoe & centinnal IPA. Tropical fruit fest! looks a bit dodgy but tastes fantastic.
Wadworths - Henry IPA. utter cack.
and some wine.
Popped into Brewdog's Edinburgh emporium. Seriously nice beers, so long as you like hop monsters.
So nice, I'm going to make some (might need some more hops, though).

it's great! loads of hop aroma and flavour, just enough malt to back it up and only 3.5% (ish) maybe a touch thin, but i think i've got a solution for that.

Having cycled to & from work, taking in the 3 mile climb from the canal at East Morton up to the top of Keighley Gate. Then bombed down to Ilkley & straight back up Cowpasture Road to The Cow & Calf, I feel I earned my pint of Yorkshire Gold. What a cracking pint !

tonights real ale is a lager! a proper pilsner. Pilsner Urquell.
very good indeed. light malty bite, but really lets the springy floral hops do the talking.
How has this thread survived over the years?
