Derny last night, 2 hours on the boards again early this morning... now my legs are tired, think a rest day is in order tomorrow! :)
A smidge under 40 miles, on the sumer bike, wearing shorts - yay!

Nicely done Ratters!
No quite as nice as shorts weather down here first thing, bit damp and a few showers as we headed off with the Ajax mob for a fifty miles of "Homage to the Tour of Flanders". Sadly the organisation was a shambles so Chas and peeled off after an hour and did our own thing, leaving poor Hanneke fuming and obliged to continue as she knew the guy in charge....less said the better. After our little tour home to watch the real thing, brilliant race, got to do it (sportive version) next year!!:):)
Anyway needed a quiet week after our escapades last weekend to Tregaron and back. Here is a little taster, L'escalier du diable, in all it's glory....

The highlight of this mornings ride was finding Mr Toffer there:D:D
I went on with them... the shambles continued... had to interfere twice more to make sure no further riders were dropped... Problem was, the initiator of the ride had set out a lovely route, but crashed and smashed in his face really badly last night... He then handed his Garmin, with the WRONG route to one of our party... alas, he didn't choose the cleverest one... etc etc etc...
I went on a lovely ride on my own this evening though, in gorgeous evening sunshine and with much hillyness... so views were spectacular with striking light through clouds and patches of bright blue sky  Feeling strong and climbing well... and then it started to rain, so my last climb became a bit of a comedy moment... the top of it is really VERY steep, as in 25% steep if not more... Only for about 50 metres, but wet greasy tarmac and me out of the saddle pushing hard on those last metres made for some spectacular rear wheel slippage :)
Why didn't I know about your little escapade Toff???? Good footage that :)
Mind I was still in Majorca, so could not have joined you...
Not a Steam Bunny event I'm afraid so I was not in charge of the invites..... However I was in charge of the course, tee hee!!!
(and no shambles)!
I know, it was a shambles, but would not have been had the initiator of yesterdays ride been able to be there myself...
Next time I suggest I go and recce it with him, so we have a backup of someone who actually knows where to go... I don't know about those new fangled Garmins, it certainly didn't show us the right route... It could not cope with us wanting to head off road and kept recaculating the quickets route back home to the Garmin's owners... hmmm... I reckon 'someone' (in yellow ;)) pushed the wrong buttons and had hit the 'go home' one...
I'd rather rely on you for a nice route next time Toff! TdG was impeccably organised!!!
Oh ooops, I almost forgot, a nice two hours of mild hillyness with a new cycling friend I met in Majorca. She wanted two hours and some climbing but nothing too severe, so we met in Crickhowell and went Pengenfford, Talgarth, Llangorse, Brecon outskirts, Talybont, Llangynidr, Crickhowell, which took us a few minutes over 2 hours and was spoton :)
