FB I noticed that two of the TT route options are there Pity the way off Blackhill isn't allowed.

I think that *in general* they set off the walking teams first BUT that's not a strict rule. Last year we were team 66 out of 95 (so 28 started after us) of which 15 were quicker (and we didn't bust a gut) and 13 slower - some considerably. There were certainly teams in the 90s that were clearly walking so.....can't help/tell.
However teams *are* set off in order - team 1 at 6.00am and (last year) team 95 at 7.34am - but it then depends how quick you're moving...(obviously).
Here's a link to last year's detailed results:-

Bin thinkin' about route choice. You are req'd to adopt a number of sections - for example you cannot go around the top end of Torside but must cross the dam. That tends to drive you up Torside Clough, although had I been doing it this year I would have checked out taking the railway further along then the TT route up, rather than simply going up Torside. Some teams then cut over; others follow the PW or a variation thereof.
Kinder is the 2/7/10 minute (depending on your label!) crossing (as TT, I think); thereafter there's a few different options from Chapel but not a lot of other options....
I've still got my GPS track from last year if you're interested.
It's a good 'un, tho.
fb
just got our team entry confirmation
anybody else?
yep. don't think my team will be challenging for any trophies, it's challenge enough getting them round!
watch out for 'The Pink Mugs'
are you having a tilt at the record IDP?
The record has come tumbling in the last couple of years, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Flippers time - just a training run for their jaunt in the Alps.
Is this your first attempt Ian and is it a Dark Peak team?
Are we seeing a new dawn for the event with a greater interest from fell runners?
Spare team member here. I Love a big outing in the peak. I have intimate route familiarity from Holmbridge to Kinder and a little bit of the Buxton bits. Super prep for the Fellsman.
