And me, I don't remember the last time I was so cold. It was all I could do to get to the car and get some dry clothes on but thank you to the organiser and all the marshals.
Apologies to the lady runner I knocked over on the descent from Blake Fell as I did an involuntary Klinsmann.
(PS My little write up is on my blog)

That was fun. Marshalling on the last summit was entertaining. The first 20 minutes I sat cursing my very poor over trousers and wet gloves, huddled behind a cairn. Then it eased off a little and I was very glad to see the front runners arrive. 1. Lee Armor 2. Martin Mikkleson-Barron 3. Brian Taylor 13th Pippa Madams. Very strong Elbra contingent today. Well done all who ran today, getting round and not giving up is quite an achievement.

Yes many thanks to all involved in the organisation especially the marshalls who must have had a really rough day. my poor old legs are covered in little red dots!

Was an interesting first fell race for me. Despite how difficult the weather made it, I cannot wait for my next one. The organisers and marshals were fantastic. Must be mad to want to do another.

My partner Kath walked out on to the course and took a few snaps on her phone. The conditions weren't good for smartphones either so some are pretty blurred but I've uploaded them all here anyway, even the selfie she told me to delete. Some were taken at the fence crossing early on and some at the stile towards the end of the race, where she stood in her hi-viz cycling jacket looking like but not actually being a marshal. She didn't follow my instructions to send at least 20 people in front of me the wrong way, sadly.

Roberto:- Welcome to fell racing. Blake Fell race was also my first race 28 years ago. It was a different kettle of fish altogether. The course was different and it was held in the summer. On the day one runner was taken to hospital suffering from heat exhaustion!! I celebrated my acheivement with a good session on the beer at night and couldn't wee until the following day. Good luck with your second race.
