Any news on the junior races
Junior races will be on, given sufficient numbers, unfortunatley due to the distance to the fell, the junior courses will be more cross country than fell. Forecast looks very good. Tips... watch out for the steep climb on the final section of the fell loop.
You couldn't resist running it up Pain Hill, could you Badger!
Hi,
Going to reccy the place tomorrow. Can anyone name me a good local for pub grub and a pint please?
Hark To Bounty in Slaidburn and Parker's Arms in Newton are both pretty good. Apparently.:p
Neither serve food in the afternoon though, so you'll have to time it right.
Definitely a mostly cross country type of course but with a nice loop of fell at the extremity. The descent will give rough fell specialists something to get their teeth into ;)
Yes, i heard it was very rocky the descent, and the 'steep' uphill isn''t really that bad.
Question - would it be sensible for some one whom has been out injured for 5 months & has only just started jogging in the last week (at less than 30 min sessions) to trot round at the back ? .........or is there a Cake stall / Beer tent I could inhabit whilst you lot are getting all hot & sweaty
I personally have never made an injury worse on the fell, only on the road. It looks like a gentle course. I would have a run out.
Hi,
Just did a short recce today. Course is fairly dry. There's about a 2 mile road section (1 out and 1 back), but verges are cut back. Just after the road section it's boggy for a hundred yard or so at the foot of Dunsop. Going up the fell is dry.
Dont forget your sun cream.
