Walking out of my front door on Saturday morning, and wandering back in 11 glorious miles later :)
A wild swim in the river Esk last week during a run round the Great Lakes race route.
No though you have me interested now :D
Visibility was down to less than 50 m all the way round so no need for modesty for me either :o and it was a cool day so the water didn't feel that much colder ...really . It was just a single deep pool.

I think the best pools are a bit further downriver, below the Esk Falls. There are a few of them, some of them big enough for a proper swim.
Running back down with the sun behind you, a warm bath in front of you, and the theme from Local Hero stuck in your head...
Having a pint after a fell race!
Springy peat for the feet, warm sun for the back, the scent of the moors for the nose, the chorus of skylarks and curlews for the ears and all of them together for the soul.
Entering Littondale.
A Boro win.
Watching my lad run.
Standing alone by a wild forest river in lapland, watching an osprey on the hunt.
The runs when it all just works. No niggles, totally energised and the lovely warm tired feeling you get afterwards when you are sat in a cafe!
