OK I checked with the organiser and the situation with juniors/inters is:
The intercounty junior team entries are now closed but individuals can enter on the day for the U16 and U18 races.
Sorry for the confusion caused by my original post.

Other notable features of the Settle Hills race are hot showers and the opportunity for some post-race retail therapy with the race sponsors Castleberg Sports from Settle who have a one-off clearance sale of stock at trade prices or below. Castleberg are also providing spot prizes so stick around for the prize-giving.
Junior races update from the race organizer:
The Junior Courses will now start up the hill, 500m along the route at the top of the gravelled lane, in the first field [GR824641].
This reduces the distance by 500m and 70m of climb.
Allow 15min walk time from the Rugby club to the start (about 1.2km), signage and marshals will be in place to direct people.
Competitors may leave clothing or bags at the start and it will be brought back to the Rugby Club.
As its a cat B race, does it get the same level of kit requirements as Cat A's?
from what i can see on fra site it only specifies mandatory for cat A medium and long events (although they can still insist on it for any cat race if RO sees fit.)
Quote:
The core requirements concerning equipment are set down in paragraph 9 of the Safety Requirements. The requirements in this paragraph represent “best practice” at all FRA races and are mandatory at all category A Long and Medium FRA races.
Just wondering, is there a map of the junior race route, and what is the amended race distance?
Also are the juniors required to carry full kit or is it just the seniors?
Thanks
Junior race route is as Seniors except :-
1. They start 500m up the course as mentioned above.
2. They avoid the Loop at the North East, so at route junction they turn South and head for home.
Juniors should come equipped to carry the same kit as Seniors. They tend to ask for (up to) full body cover, which may be waterproof so best to have waterproof available.
They are unlikely to ask for map, compass, whistle on a fully marked course.
I've seen kit asked for at Sedbergh Uphill, World Trial Uphill (Patterdale) last year and this year at Cowpe last week, so it is a regular occurance that all juniors need to be prepared for.
Does anyone know the correct start time for the senior race?
it is listed as 12:00 on Settle Harriers website http://settleharriers.org/settlehills_race.htm
and 10:00 on the FRA race page http://fellrunner.org.uk/races.php?id=2554
