I know. I'm feeling a bit guilty now at having got away with mine on the Spring Bank weekend. Just taken the dog for a walk along the river & canal to the pub. The beer tasted that much better knowing that this was Plan B: Plan A had me on Great End & Scafell Pike navigating for Lee.
Yea I am pleased I managed to get round last weekend with fab support!
Well, if the Greta is anything to go by the Caldew will be horrific ......

We had a go at leg 2 and had to wade 50m past the sewege farm through over knee deep water (I hope) and when we got high the wind started and then rain came down like bullets. We got to white side and it was getting daft and one our merry men was getting cold so we turned round and reversed the route. Saw a lad on tour of helvelyn and he was bailing off round raise and a bloke training for utmb . All the grass around the river and bridge was flatend and feilds were lakes so looks like the river burst last nite . Bet caldew wouldve iffy !
the 2 guys out with dark peak(1 from glossopdale I think) are 30 minutes up and well on to leg two. weather shocking.
Martyn I was guiding in the dales today and had 2 of your friends in my group. Dales were the wettest I've ever seen them any big trip will be tough today
Good luck to anyone carrying on their rounds .
the 2 going from DP/glossop started at 4.00pm I believe.
