Line every time for me - can't think strategically enough for score, I always overdo it and have to cut short on the way back in.
It starts on my birthday, wonder if I can get a pass out without upsetting the other half too much!!

Didn't even bother queueing when we saw what was on offer and the length of the queue so can't really comment on quality or portion size but having seen others eating what appeared to be the all too familar veggie chillie/pitta bread/flapjack combo we were just totally uninspired :-(

...and I'm in. Eek!
Eek too!! Medium Score... civilised 10am start on Saturday.
10am is very civilised. I'm 9:14 on C-class... I guess the trods will be firmly in place by then so I'm expecting easy running . And 8:52 on Sunday, which is stupidly late. I like to be up and away as soon as possible. I've never done an OMM before but it a bloody long start list and C-class isn't even full.
08:14 for us on day 1 - hope they're not bussing us an hour away again!
08:54 day 2, so the worst combination as usual - maximising the time spent trying to stay dry while stopping the tent blowing away.
9.15 start on day 2. Will just have to make the chasing start then!
The OMM is not full ive been mailshot twice, a sign of the times, people have got less money, the event us now expensive, more events etc. previous Howgills Kimms have a reputation of massive wetness. 1998 was far wetter and worse weather than the abandoned Borrowdale of 2008, and regarding the comments of the Howgills being a small area for a MM, 1989 courses were the longest ever experienced- as well as wet!
Ill be in Turkey, enjoy!
Did the 1989 courses use any of the adjacent areas?
Hard to know why numbers are down - the Saunders was hugely oversubscribed again and the LAMM not far off full, last year's RAB was also full.
From my own perspective, having the event centre a long way from the action detracts from the experience, but after 2008 I can see why they've chosen to do this. And it wouldn't put me off entering anyway.
The chances of really bad and cold weather put a lot of people off the OMM as far as I understand.
May well be up for it again this year, last time was 2008... bit deflated still about it being abandoned halfway, but it was the demise of my fell running, fracturing a fibula and tearing the ATF ligament clean off. Not that I realised that until I woke up in a cosy B&B on Sunday morning and could not put any weight on it...
Medium score anyone? ;)
