Its the climbs that I need to work on.
You could have waited on that last one up to the calf :D , i'd have found the short cut then.
Your mate Pete had a great run, he can carry the bags, food and do the cooking when we support him

I was wobbelhead, did they help you out?
I was knacked by that point, was I talking to you after the race?
Glad I did'nt follow the chap on the short cut.
Ah right, I was talking to the other chap afterwards.
I was pretty unsure we were on the right path, due to the fact that we were still going upwards after passing the calf (highest point on race) thats what confused the hell out of me. It turned out it was only a short distance.
Looking at the map now it makes sense, not sure where I would have gone if Id have been on my own. Probably followed the short cut man
Who was in the top 5 or so? Anyone know?
I've put two sets of photos from the race up on the Northumberland Fell Runners website. My partner took a few taken on Arant Haw and coming back from The Calf and the other set I took whilst running the race.
They are a little NFR-biased and one set is obviously just seen from one position in the race, but you should be able to pick out the top 5* (in cloud at The Calf) and the other photos should remind you of the dramatic scenery if nothing else - here's the link.
*I believe Joe Symonds won, Alison Raw won the ladies.
yes Joe won, Scoffer was third but can't remember who was 2nd - sorry!
Nick Leigh was 2nd
