Re: Derwent Watershed... warpi
Well done to everyone. Especially JD, Margarine & Grouse who were all in the 2nd placed team. Well done LuvShack - winning the RC Vets prize - I bet you felt really young with all those 'mature gentlemen' in your team!
I set off from Mam Nick at 8.30 and passed a few of the earlier teams between there and Jacob's Ladder, but I managed to miss JD etc. completely in the thick mist on Colbourne Moor somewhere.
I don't envy you at all, the conditions overnight crossing Bleaklow must have awful at times. However, I'm still considering it for next year!
Re: Derwent Watershed... warpi
Ah, so maybe it was you Geoff that we bumped into in the mist early in the morning.

Could well have been - not at 7am, though; I was still eating my porridge, then!

The Watershed does have the ability to warp the mind..... it has even been written about by some of the RC elders...
Even contemplating the event seems to bring on a sort of madness; beware GeoffB that was fighting talk in your earlier posting.... your on the KFR list now for HPM 2008, unless you get nabbed by the Glossop crew!!

It just seems like one of those things you've got to do at some stage.
How are your feet, today, by the way?
Re: Derwent Watershed... warpi

Hoves now fully cloven....

Aye Socks, still got a rather messy foot & stuffed knees...
Probably not improved by this latest fit of madness....
But, there are something’s, which just have to be done...
And how could I deny such a clarion call!
Had I done so, my name would have been Mud (no slight intended), forevermore with the RC brethren…
Re: Derwent Watershed... warpi
Why should a mere foot & knee injury stop a perfectly sane person doing a 42 mile run around the toughest area The Peak has to offer?
Re: Derwent Watershed... warpi
Absolutely. Didn't stop Andy, either.
