It does, thanks Cougar. I was thinking along those lines, also considering one of the polypropylene sit on things, some of them look quite good.

I've never paddled a sit on top but the Colorado will roll up and go in your car boot - I think its probably also much more stable, never came close to capsizing ours except when beaching through surf. Warmer too, because you sit in it sheltered by the side tubes. (But a rigid sit on top wont puncture of course - I had a few leaks in my colorado, easily fixed but a nuisance none the less - bit of a pain when it was a nice day and I had to strip it down to fix it and wait for the glue to dry)
Took my tippy (Lancer) boat up the canal for 5 miles yesterday. Went from Preston Brook to Moore (Runcorn) It was great racing canal barges canal folk are so friendly. Sure beat the Weaver Navigation which is my usual river of choice.
I only fell in once on the turn, suprised at how shallow canals are.
Marathon paddling is the kayaking equivalent of long distance track running. Do some proper kayaking Jamie ;) Less paddling, more falling over!
Nah got to disagree, the track can be quite interesting pudgy.
I would love to give downhill a go, one step at a time eh.
Hmm... just entered this at short notice...

Should be interesting...
Sounds good Macc Lad, we never did have that paddle did we.
I fell in three times on Tuesdays training session, its since I upgraded to a faster boat. I want to get used to it before the end of summer for winters training.

A sort of racing sea kayak (Epic 18x). Not really tried any of these more tippy K1 things. You can't roll them anyway....
This week, i have been mostly on the sea everyday this week apart from Tuesday, which was nice.
Arms are reet knackered now though, got a fairly decent tan though :D
Right. Got a week At Park Foot next to Ullswater, so going to take the plunge (haha) and get a boat, probably inflatable, so I have Cougar's recommendation of the Sevylor Colorado - any others to consider that anyone has any experience of? And a question - should I be using one of those long paddles with the flat bit at each end or one of those short ones with just one flat bit? Or do I have the choice? Need to get bouyancy vest thingies for the kids and me probably - anything I need to know?
Thanks
