Yep; always the 1st Saturday in September. You'll either love it ...or hate it!

Oh I will love it... plenty of time to get fitter too!
I think its time to re-introduce this thread back to the top of the forum.
Not long now to the Best Hill Race of the year.
Do we have any updates from forumites of who have had confirmation that they have been moved from the waiting list to a confirmed race place.
Let us know.
my first time this year, I'm on the entry list on the Ben site, do they send your number out or do you pick it up on the day?
I'm arriving Friday morning and going back Sunday night so if any forumites fancy meeting up let me know. I'm hoping to do something on Sunday but maybe thats a little optomistic as I guess my legs will be shredded?
Theres a bit of a get together in the Imperial Hotel on Friday night about 7.00pm. Will be doing a guess your time sweepstake once again £1.00 entry and nearest takes the pot !
Bladerunner, you pick up your number on the day. How ever, you do get confirmation, You will need it for registration. No confirmation card, no run!
If you can go for a run on the sunday, then you have not run hard enough. Or you have not drunk enough !!!!
Cheers
Like the avatar wharfy, Is that you before you grew that beard ?:D
Just thought I'd bring this back to the front - only a few weeks off now.
Hope all those who cant run have informed the race secretary so that people on the reserve list can get a run. If Borrowdale is anything to go by there should be a few who have decided that they would rather be somewhere else!!
How is the preparation going then??
Alsoran - well done for bringing this thread back to the top.

Upped my milage, also 2 hill sessions per week and dropped 11lb body weight. I am looking forward to the day now. Should race a stone lighter and a lot fitter.
Bring it on.:)

That is a big list, and it's growing ~ if only I could finish the race in my list position..........
Lets see!
I have had no reply from the race sec. I was high up on the reserve list but with the race fast approaching and having heard nothing I have cancelled my day's holiday from work and will email the sec letting him know I no longer want a place - not sure if my cheque got cashed or not???
Yes Mapper, not sure how you managed to get to the top of the list. Wishfull thinking on your part no doubt. But as you say, you never know!!.
Would be good to see where every one comes within the race, then we can get a BN Forum Results List. You may have a chance at that.
Mapper, you do realise that Alsoran's hospitality for early morning brew and bacon butties along with wet weather accommadation will not be available this year !!!
Yes, I think there's only me & the missus camping this year ~ Alsoran and his mates have jibbed and are staying in a hotel. They will miss the glorious warmth and sunshine and outdoor pre and post race atmosphere. (and their stuffy hotel will give them a stinking hangover on the Sunday:D )
I'll be on my special potion of porridge, honey, nuts and sultanas (oh..... and my Soreen maltloaf:)). That's my guarantee to get up and down in megga fast time.
Are you camping Tomsk?
Glen Nevis camp site for the Staggers.
Anyone seeking accomodation see "General Fellrunning Issues"
Gutted!
Injury has forced me to pull out of this year's race.
Have told the organiser, so whoever is at top of reserve list is in for a treat!
A thought I also had this morning. Looks like if you're going to book, you have to do so four weeks in advance and it costs you an extra £10!

A few of us in the Ochils have always just gone along to the Nevis site after the race. Its a big, big site and we have never had any problems getting pitches.
just received the following email from the campsite
That's for Friday and Saturday night!Quote:
Thank you for your enquiry.
For the dates requested there is no need to book.
Kind regards
Hannah
Stalag Nevis!! Top place!
No talking after lights out or you risk a big f*ck-off searchlig....er, torch being shone through your flaps (ooohh, nasty!):p
We did get the torch treatment last year and politely suggested they switch it off and go away.
We were steaming drunk and must have been a tad vocial:o
Bloody good night though. We had been in a pub on the main street Bingley, K&C, CV and some DP were all there, it was funny with some of the quick whit flying around.
:DGlad to see tradition being kept up then!
Did you have deep fried mars bars from the chippie? Did you have Mountaineers Breakfast in Nevis Sports?? Did ya, did ya??
You can also add chocolate_chops from Clayton to the list guys.
