Can I just say some of us managed a pb by waiting patiently at the styles and getting our breaths back (the one at the top of the steep slope is particularly welcome!), before springing forward to glory (or something like that!)
P.S. Any photos to come;), Richard? I believe I was looking particularly dashing on Monday!!!;)
Good for you Woodenlegs!
Any news on results yet?:o
results are up HERE
Straggler, Can't get your Link to work but it is here
Good going on the pb Ian,good run tonight to,shame i got waylaid a little but hey, enjoyed it all the same:D
thanks ian
Anyone doing number 4 tonight? looks like rain:(
Have fun y'all. Yet to run one this season but tonight I'm babysitting.... :o
Cor blimey im knackered:o was hard going tonight, but still got a pb(i hope).Heard someone ducked under the fence at the stile, angering a few runners waiting by the sound of it,naughty naughty.
went and watched tonight, first time iv been, looks a pretty good course. i will be doing the next 1 now i have run round the course.
Fingers crossed that I didn't blow it tonight. Turning down the run to the finish I thought a PB was a gimme, 50 m from line checked watch to see the pb had gone, no one challenging behind so pulled up and jogged in and checked watch again as I crossed the line to see my pb as only just ticking over:mad: It will be close but I think I may have done it, It felt hard tonight. Beat Rob Little to stream and then he woke up and I next saw him warming down running back along the track whilst I was still racing.
Well done to Ginge Whinge who past me on the run in, as far as I can remember he is the first to pass me after the last hill in 4 years of Truncing:o
Was Rob Little in the planet fear vest? well, someone in said vest flew past me just before you turn off the road down onto the field.was going like the clappers,i reckon i gained a couple of seconds being pulled along in his slipstream:D
That boy sure can run!!! Wasnt taking much notice of his legs though Ian;)
Damn, forgot it was on tonight, went for a blast around Rivelin instead.
You must have been flying Matt for Rob to catch you at the road\field junction - good effort!
Me and middleditch had challenged him to run alongside until the the first set of stepping stones and then see if he could still win...
Run alongside middleditch that is -not alongside me...
Hi Phil
Rob was toying with us all:rolleyes: not sure if he'd had a hard race over the W/E or if he fancied a chase training session as he was chatting away and joking behind me until the the first river crossing and then he he took off really...................fast
Yep what do you think! I wasn't running -crocked me ankle -just jogging -shouting abuse -and photography...
Hi guys, Rob toying with you eh! The bounder. Not sure if he raced this weekend. Sounds like a silly bet among the boys. Can't believe Middle is still pretending to be slow.
Neil - knacked ankle, thought you took a gaggle of gorgeous ladies on Kinder over the weekend. Did they run you to the ground?
Yep bin taking 't easy for a few days. Lovely triple crossing without dropping to snake and via ammo box. Just don't want to race and crock it again before next weekend!
Aye middle is getting it back, though I guess he'll continue to claim he's unfit until he beats Rhys....
looks like the results are up on the trunce website.
Nice one, good work by results crew!
Although.....Bo Haynood seems to have sneaked in somehow.:o
Bo Haywood, younger sister to Blue Haywood, was 4th in junior race.
Why she has shown up as senior, I do not know , but know a man that is looking in to it.
Martin, the results guy, has changed jobs and starts work in York next week.
He will not be at future Trunce races but will still do the results for me until the end of the year, I will send him the details (hopefully on the Tuesday after the race) and he will process the information over the next couple of days.
For next years results I have 3 very capable IT based runners looking into simplifying the system with a view to having results out on the night, without fail, even if only on a spread sheet.
Marvellous work Plumbum
Next Trunce is Monday 23rd June, a pair of small, size 5, trainers were left on the field at the last one. Also a pair of cycling glasses and a pair of gloves from the previous race. Any one claiming ownership?
Great run last night. Amazing how much shorter the queues are when ya start off quicker. Took over half a minute off my PB. Thanks as usual to Plum Bum et al for your sterling work. See y'all on the 14th
lovely evening for it and thanks also to plumbum and team for putting on a cracking little race series
