Wadsworth Trog and Half Trog are both full.
The Yorkshireman Half is a BL and so would count, you just need an AM or A or B long.

Noon Stone 3rd March
Half Tour of Pendle 10th March
Haworth Hobble 10th March
Black Combe 11th March
suggest you check with the organisers whether the OMM etc count as a long A or not, depending on what class you did
Is this recce still on? I'm trying to get time off work.
If I'm lucky what time are you planning on meeting?
I'm only looking for a steady day - 5 hours or so.
Cheers
FF
I too would be interested in a spin around the peaks, keep us all updated as to where and when. Anybody bringing a dog, proper dog I mean, a male one with bits, as mine does not like other dogs if still in tact..
A 5 hour training run would be fine for me as I should be doing the trog on Saturday so i will not be too fresh.
Keep us posted.
can no longer do reccee on the tuesday :(
any other trips up please let me know
wobblehead/flatfoot-im not sure of meeting times etc and im looking at a similar times around. we had thought about leaving a car at hill inn just in case someone just wanted to do a shorter run or pull out.
moo-its a shame you cant make it, the more the merrier. im up for another reccy in near future if it happens, let me know if hear of other trips

I think we are looking at starting no later than 10. Don't worry the pace should be very leisurely!
Has anyone received their entry number recently? Is it over 300 now?
(Just to see how many have entered so far and how long I can leave it).
i sent mine at the weekend, but received as yet.
I've made my mind up about the three peaks - I'm not going to do the race but I will put myself somewhere on whernside, with loads of bags of sweets handing them out to you runners that will really deserve them! let me know if you have any preferences or allergies!
Can you do the Exe to Axe as well? Somewhere round Branscombe would be good.
Jelly babies or pork scratchings.
Devon is north of Sheffield. It's all to do with the curvature of the earth or something. I saw it on the interweb, so it's true.
JELLY BABIES!
Cheers DS
The climb up Whernside is alright. It's Inglebugger where I make use of all four limbs.
Four? If there aren't five points of contact it's not a real hill.Quote:

Just a quick question Pudgy can you enter online for this?
Nope, got to send off the official application form with an SAE
You can get the form at http://www.threepeaksrace.org.uk/
Interested Roger?
Roger, I can't bring my self to send my entry off either :D
does anyone know the distances between the start and check points and then finish?
cheers
Check out this from Brummy John's site.
cheers for that
Yeh, yesterday: 342
Yipeeee
OK. Thanks Paul.
New FRA member interested in doing 3 Peaks.I seem to remember reading on the old forum someone had a good map of the route which differs from the tourist one. Can anyone help?
Brummy John's site has an aerial view which should help you. Don't forget you will need to have done some qualifying races.
Well, that was very interesting today.
It's a challenge, but one I enjoyed. Reckon we got round in about 4:20 - 4:30. Whernside is the tough one. And not going too fast up to it. Luckily it didn't rain!
I don't think I'll be doing the race. If I went round a today's pace, maybe, but my competitive instinct will take over, i will go a lot quicker and that will have the same effect as 2005's marathon, i.e. bugger me up for 3 months minimum. Which as I'm running quite well, is not what I want.
Maybe Daleside will let me come and watch with her??
Fellhell
Were you up there today?
I walked up Pen y Gent today with my son in tow, kept doing some 'tracking', followed what looked like some mudclaws up, was that you?
Anybody else planning any recce runs, I will definately be interested, just got an 'unexpected three month holiday'!
Yeah, PaulH7 had mudclaws on! Well spotted!
Maybe it was longer than 4:30, we did stop to check the map a couple of times?
Race day, were I to enter, I'd hope to break 4 hours, but know that finishing would be the main aim and anything can happen on race day...
