There you go. There's one born every minute.:D
If any team are looking for a substitute, send me a message. A very fit fellrunner friend, keen to do the HPM, mid-40s, could step in.
Yiannis

One more nights sleep to go! Packed my bag last night and have never spent as long trying to pack so little. Weather looking less and less promising as we get nearer to friday night.....not too cold though. Hey ho!!!
Here is the good news
will feel like minus 11 in the wind.....
gusts of up to 60mph......
sleet, hail, rain, drizzle......

Bring it on:D !
The day has finally arrivived. Shame on those who are cheating, staying in bed all day and not getting a full weeks work done. Weather looks quite challenging. See you all tongiht.
Confronted with the weather forecast, last night my HPM 'extreme foul weather plan' swung into action.
I packed a goretex hat.
See you at Edale tonight.
im frantically trying to sew up my nuns outfit
you wouldnt beliveve the saga ive had getting a full waterproof one:)
Several shops in Attercliffe will have this available in leather or PVC.
(I am informed)
Good luck to everyone tonight. I hope the weather stays reasonably calm for you all and no one falls foul of the Bleaklow Bog Monster.
If you get the sunrise like we had in 2005 all the pain will be worth it !!http://forum.fellrunner.org.uk/attac...1&d=1204887756
Good luck to everyone for tonight / tomorrow morning.
Planning on being somewhere between Kinder Downfall and Snake summit to shout abuse (encouragement):D .
Any other observers wishing to join me, I will be setting off from below the Snake Inn, to ascend Fairbrook, at 07:00hrs.

for anyone wanting to keep an eye on the weather through the day (no I don't work for them!)
This would give an idea for the east side of the route. Anyone else got webcam links for other sections?
Bloody hell if it's like that in the morning it's going to have to snow a bit...
Current conditions over Derwent edge are bright and "breezy" with a few clouds.
Don't forget to watch out for the outeredge BM also....:D
Don't forget the hip flask Andy, Hope to see you in the morning and not during the night;)
Good luck every one
I found a headtorch on Bleaklow this morning - send me a description if you lost one
Dave
It was difficult with lights:eek: .
Well done one and all. Especially 3 blind mice and a farmers wife, 1st mixed team :D .
Took photo's of teams I saw between Downfall and Snake summit. Will attempt:confused: to put them on the forum soon.
enjoyed that , was tough going at times but found it forced me to think and use my navigation skills more.
thanks to ian dark peak for his help and to be honest a more cheerfull a runner ive never met
he doesnt need a torch on , just listen to him singing his way along.:) to find him.
fantastic organisation and thanks to all who stood out in that horrendous weather.
nice one
lots of usual suspects and managed to see luvshack come in but he had a top on:eek: :D
Carlsberg don't do marshalls but if they did they would have to be fantastic to get anywhere near HPM ones. Every checkpoint manned in that weather and time is amazing and all pretty happy about it. Although the girls at snake were like sirens trying to entice me in and telling me that I don't have to go on!
Well done to all the team including AJF who stepped in at the last mo only to wreck his ankle!
Safely say that is the toughest event I have ever done.
Cheers Daz, That made me giggle:o
It was good to be able to run along side you and Andy for so long.
Daz if you hadn't worked it out from his above post Plum bum was the runner taking picture just before mill hill
At one point some where over Outeredge Defo the worst bit for me, (I was glad of the local knowledge) fully water proofed up in the mist and rain and some one comes up be hind me and asked if I was IDP, how did he know it was me??? I was definately not singing then.
Absolutly Potto, I've done my fair share of marshalling but they were Brilliant. Esp the ones at Swaines Head as we had to hang around there for a while, (sorry team) they maqde me a cup of tea and the pizza was excellent. never seen so many pretty marshals, it was hard to leave some of the checkpoints.
Weather was bad enough down in Hadfield last night!
Any results anyone?
This sounds absolutely marvellous!!! Mega admiration for you nutters wot did it!
Ankle truly f*cked. No running for me for some time I reckon. Already turned black and swollen all the way round. Looks like I have had an elephants ankle transplanted on there.
Hope to be back in a month or so.
Sorry to team potto for slowing them once I knackered my ankle.
Quite jealous watching the first runners come in from the ridge. Really wanted to finish this one but I guess the ability to walk is quite essential.
Only results I know are Montrail/Vasquez teams 1 and 2. Mark Hartnells team 1st. North Face 6th I think?
That was some event. So many bogs, lying there waiting to swallow you up. Sooooo cold up at Cut Gate, hypothermia starting to set in - was I glad when the rain started to ease off. So far - GPS (sealed in an envelope) registered 43.3 miles. And then there was the Pied Piper heading a (not so) merry throng of us through the bogs (fortunately not over a cliff) - thanks very much IDP.
Well done to the Nuns. We were very pleased to finish in under 12 hours.
Being a fully signed up member of the hopelessly daft & bonkers brigade...
And done rather to many Watersheds.... some in real extremis..
I found it pretty tough FriNite/SatMorn...
Had thought it might be "drier" than "normal" from Cut Gate ownward..
Only to find it was shockingly wet & monstrously boggy  ..
Truly a night to be forgotten... rather than savoured…..
Still, if I can get fit for next year I guess I'll be back..
For more of the same....
Which included some truly wonderful marshalling....
Many thanks to Filthy Rich & Co' :D
It's a brilliant event!!!!
Superb run by the Lads & Lassies at the sharp end..
Amazing times considering how wet, windy & boggy its was..
(Sadly I slowed the RC Kids somewhat, who were kindness personified!)
just to add to what has already been posted the prelimanary (sp!) results from memory -which is not that great at the best of times were:
half man half totley were 3rd in 10:21
Macc Harriers -4th
Team North face?? - 5th
Mahogany ridge (Dark Peak) - 6th 10:48 - can remember that as I was in this team
Dark Peak Ladies knocked about 2 hours off the ladies course record - bloody imressive. they were round in 11 hours and something
Totley ladies got round in 14+ hours (and are rightly very impressed by the DPFR ladies result!)
It was my first time doing this race and I loved it. I said at the finish that I wan to do it again next year - and I still do this morning!
High Peak Rollerbladers were third in 10:13;)
And anothor fellow Glossopdaler is proud of the boys - Brilliant!!!
