Trace settled down now, just about at Newsham House.
The odd thing is you have to go into a sheep enclosure up a bit then climb a high wall( admittedly with foot steps) to take the route they took, where the right route is hang a left through a gate on a big track. Hard to figure how they got that wrong. Diversion cost them 10 mins at least.

Some members, like me, are invisible...

What are the conditions like up there?
With the 9am start the next 4 hours in the dark will be hard
I had not noticed that! The list of members viewing does not match the "count" of members watching.

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
So who would like to guess where sharon will meet Stolly? - Helvellyn?
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Yes, Helvellyn I reckon :) Go Stolly :)
Had to come in and check how he's doing before bed... won't be able to check his progress until 2 pm tomorrow, as before that I am stood marshalling somewhere with no signal... :)

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
this next bit is one of the main reasons I don't like the idea of an anti-clock
ascents of Seat Sandal, Fairfield and Dollywagon in short succession :w00t:
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Between watching Mike Hall's spot tracker racing the Great Divide and Stolly's BG, my life is too exciting ;) Must try get some sleep...
Have a great nightn Stolly, run strong and remember: it is only a bit of weather ;)

We could set up a sweepstake - nearest OS grid reference wins - entries in by 00:30. Howfast the judge (as he has a live stream of 90sec updates). 333145 is my shout.:closed:

Do you mean 343?
I am picking helvellyn.
The reason I do not like AC is descents! And the thought of climbing blencathra knackered.
That route makes a good short training run - I do it a couple of times a year. Seat sandal, fairfield, dollywaggon, then a fast run back down willie wife moor.

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Is Stolly on the way back down from Seat Sandal to Dunmail?
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Or is the man with the felt tip playing up again? Too stressful this.
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Let's hope the felt tip (as you say) is playing up. On a positive note No. 10 is about to reach Stybarrow Dodd. No idea if that is on schedule or not but seems to be making good progress.

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Just went back to original link and began again. It has them on climb to Fairfield. Still going!
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
yep. The route line is continuing but the No.8 marker is back down near waterfalls near Dunmail for me. Don't know about you but after a couple of pints of cider I'm tired just looking at this. That said, I am taking part in two attempts at once!
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
What do we reckon, no.10 and stolly to pass around Nethermost Pike?
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Just back from Dunmail. Both Gavin and stolly were climbing well on leg 3. We had a few minor hicups. Had to go down to foxes tarn after some confusion with rope team on BS. Probably best as it was bucketing down.. I can confirm we most certainly went to bow fell sumit. I did struggle with linre below hanging knots at bit but we hit the col ok.
I must admit that whilst having been across section 3 at least 25 times it was my first anticlock. It all looked very different specially in the clag.
Any how they hit dunmail about 15 mins down. Just hope the weather is a bit kinder for the rest of the night.

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
good luck for the next few hours. I'm going to have to turn in now.

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
I seem to be stuck at Dollywaggon at 2am. Anybody else got any more?

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Wondering about having a stroll down to the Moot hall. Anyone know if Stolly is still going?
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Yes ive got him there too. After reading moorlanders report sounds like hes going well despite the weather
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
I can't offer anymore - It seemed to stop at 2am. I've sent another reset text but nothing has happened so far. Sorry about that guys.
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Yes... so hoping if he got through leg 3 in all that and only 15 mins down he should be ok. Tracker must be stuck again.
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Sorry, James, hadn't seen yours. Let's hope for a report from Threlkeld soon, then.
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Or its had a rite good waterproof test.............
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Always astonishing to wake up and realise that they're still going. Shame the fascinating tracker has stopped. Must be on Skiddaw now?

Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Come on Stolly, not far now:thumbup:
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Any news!!? I've got him ascending Dollywagon at 02.00! Just hope he's not starting to struggle a bit? 2 hrs from there will leave him 40 minutes or so to play with from Threlkeld?.....I think? Fingers crossed.....
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Aye c'mon Brian not far now
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
Well the tracker looks to have broken. I bet they're all lying on the floor knackered outside the Moot Hall, surely? Fingers Crossed....
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
15 minutes, come on Stolly, get a shift on.
Then let's hear the tales.
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
I am actually a little stressed now! He should be heading toward the High Street now! This tracker lark has raised our expectations for immediate clarification!!
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
My 7 year old son's cricket team won their first cricket match last week...on the LAST BALL so I am used to this kind of stress...I can handle it. C'mon Hester kick their backsides into Keswick. You can do it!
-
Re: BG anticlockwise 22nd June
5 minutes! I'm about to go out for a run. They must be there??
