Day 4 of not running but calf feels much better. May try a light run tomorrow.
Day two - this week of being unable to run. Sat here with my leg in an ice pack from knee to ankle trying to sort this calf strain out. Only one run in the last week not the best prep for a half mara on Sunday.
Well I've not run since Saturday and am fast becoming a right fat lazy bastard. No injury or excuses really but I think I needed a small break.
Hopefully back at it this evening though.
Pinno, whats is the half mara your aiming for?
Today resting for my spinning class tomorrow (To those of you who think that spinning is like weaving or knitting or sumet; its actually on exercise bikes)...havent done it in a few years so i thought it would benifit my fitness. Plus the guy who leads it is a bit of a nutcase and a real fitness guru so he's ace at making you push hard.

Pulled my calf on Saturday:( , only did 400m, but I can cycle:) , so today I went from Addingham to Skipton and down to Silsden. Total distance was 18.7mile time was 68:39 ave HR 130 and tried to keep my rpm at 80, much better than going on the turbo trainer in the garage, and it makes me feel better, but don't think I will be able to do Hutton Roof Crags this weekend, hope you are OK for the Trail, did it last year, it's a nice run.
Tonight: feet up, wife's out tonight and nippers will be in bed. Choice of movies to watch, perhaps a beer or two....
Don't get many nights like this! :p
6 hours to work tonight, finish at midnight, couple of cider's to unwind, rest on Saturday, eldest lad up from London for weekend:cool:
Hill walking with wife and kids, yes, the wife has purchased some walking boots and wants to walk, result:cool:

Yeah tried to persuade my hubby to come out with me yesterday but no chance....so I left him to fitting our new shower and tiling the bathroom...a good enough punishment I think! :D
If he had come out with me I would have been walking and wouldn't have hurt my foot running down on stone slabs on the Cleveland Way. I didn't really notice it until I'd gotten home but it's really painful now :( So I guess that can be his fault as well! Hee hee :rolleyes:
............is going well. Onto the 3rd consequetive day now but may venture for a swimble later to ease the sunburn!!

well I rested today......well not really, not mentally, but physically, boy my legs are sore :(
I'm going to rest for a couple of hours int Huntsman at Thurlstone in about half an hour, to get a bit of rehydrating done. :D
Had a vasectomy the other day, so due to the fact that my plums are like space hoppers I've been resting.
Any idea when I'll be running/cycling or even walking properly again :rolleyes: ?

As a highly-trained endurance athlete I believe it's important to listen to what your body has to say. Tonight mine said, "lie on the settee, eat curry, drink beer, and occasionally open one eye to check what the score is in the footie", so that's what I've done ;)
I've decided to play it safe and not do the 3 Peaks on Friday. Give my knee a chance to get better.

Ive decided to rest now until next tuesday's track session.
This morning both my knees are seriously painful and the walk up the hundreds of steps to the computers in the library seemed to go on for ever.:(
a run to me is a rest, beats this crappy job i do, other than that, my heel still hurts, but i dont care, stuff it, it can suffer
I am still resting my ankle :-(
However, I have taken to riding the bike in stead of running, just to retain so,e aerobic fitness. Suppose that does not quite count as resting?

Four days ive been resting for now to try and get my knee right. I think its doing the trick so far, as it only hurts when i run:eek:.
Tomorrows the final day of resting im allowing it though!
Fourth day off in a row with a cold :(
Feeling much improved today though, so hope to be back on the fells this weekend :)
