Looks like the weather's changing for the weekend...should make it more bearable for Sunday. Damn this heat! :)
Looking forward to this one,I think:o.Are there any requirements?kit carrying wise?
my diary has been cleared for this week end so i might turn up with Jelly babies.
how did you do?
was there a good turn out?
i was asking about summer series a dark peak race round stanage last night!!;)
Hi Thai
about 20 I think although the results only show 15 as a few runners misread the map and were disq. Mr Winskill and Mr Middleditch were also there but they were tired from hard races over the weekend and decided to use it as a social run and missed the last three cps
Grimmer was also there.
The route used quite a bit of the Stanage Struggle but was very rough near the end.
Ian seems to have high hopes for me Jodg!!!
He's that sort of guy!
Just had a look at last years times,to get top 20 you would have to do somewhere near 2.06. This seems unlikely:o
As long as I'm in the top half I'm happy! :)
Me too.The longest ive raced is 8 miles so im in unknown territory with this one, regards to pacing, food? etc....
speaking of which...
need to buy mini-Mars Bars <yum!>
also, without a word of a lie, these are the best trail food EVER:

Hi all...looking forward to this one and expect to be in the bottom 20 :)
daz - mini mars bars sound like a great idea :)
I understand that there will be cut-offs imposed this year. The first is at Edale Cross after 2hrs and
the second at the track junction just before reaching the main road (A624) at Peep O' Day after 3hrs.
CUT OFF POINTS & TIMES
This year the organisers have decided to have cut off times at two points on the Trog course, this is to assist in maintaining effective cover by Kinder Mountain Rescue Team and to avoid Race Marshals being out on the course for an unreasonable amount of time.
The points and times are:
EDALE CROSS - 1pm
TRACK JUNCTION (Old Quarry Track, approaching Peep O' Day) - 2pm
Marked up maps will be on display at Race Registration clarifying this.
If you are timed out at these points you will be requested to take the shortest route back to Race Control/Registration back at the Scout Hut.
Have fun.... hopefully not in the full sun!
Can anybody tell me the easiest route in from Doncaster way?:o
No, they're having a weekend off, but they've done me proud the last few weeks so can't complain:cool: Will be providing a taxi service for two other forumites in the shape of Fleeter and Mrs Stagger. Stagger has given me lifts in the past and Fleeter can give me lifts in the future when he passes his test;)
Woodhead sounds best then, but im not to sure bout an XL vest!!!
Thanks Daz,Thanks Ian:D
