Blimey Wynn - they sound scrumptious, can you please make sure all the speedy front runners don't eat them all and leave nothing for the not so speedy back runners:o
:D
plenty to go round - we normally have it for brecci on Sunday
Glad everyone enjoyed the day out, oh and the compliments, I don't know what to say :o but Swoop you need to ask Emmilou or Moo why I'm not an expert! Great piccies Huw, Dudley reckons you got his best side and says thanks. His only regret of the day was not quite releasing the meat pie from its rucsac prison;) , says he'll try better next time.
Wonder if Wynne will save any cake for the junior helpers on race day?
It is a lovely route, and a very nice way to round off a great nights camping .... all be it on a popped air bed
Good bickies wyn, and a good incentive to get me to the finish on the day :D
Thanks to Steve for the encouragement!
a very faint possibility that I can come on Friday. Still a fantasy in my head right now but Iwill do my best!
Can I still enter? I don't want to run - I'll just retire after the starting field and sit in the village hall scoffing the best cakes while you lot run round... ;)
(once round the course is enough this year!)
Wynn, could you tell me how long/hilly the kids race is?
Cheers.
I notice from the handbook that the children's races start from another village hall
about 100m West of the usual one. I didn't notice it when we were there last Friday!;)

ahhh that'ed be tom's fault then (as in tom tom!!!) the car drivers delight/nightmare....
Having another run round with alwaysinjured and his mate tomorrow.
Weather forecast is good so I'm taking my suncream!
Looking to remember the tips Chris gave us last week and learn a few more from alwaysinjured.
Ah but theres a strategy here......
So I show you the wrong way, but make it sound VERY convincing,,,
(just remember Ive already told you to head towards honister)
and you show two other people...
and they show two each.more..
then very soon, the whole field goes the wrong way..
so I hide behind a rock , then go the RIGHT way
That way I get all of wynns cakes yippeee!...and scarper before the lynch mob arrive!
i do believe that Wendy Dodds tried that last year with some success
Thanks Sunnyside & swoop - good day out & good company
Enjoyed it!
Ok, so out of the entire FRA it's now only Amadablam, Fellrunner and me who haven't either raced this last year or reccied it to death.
Any clues on where it goes? I can play follow-the-leader to Dale Head, but:
- is the best line from High Spy to Cat Bells the tourist path with some straightens?
- route down from Catbells?
