I took some nice ones with my phone not bad for a little camera but I can't post them on here as they are too big and I don't have a web site thingy like you - how do I get one of those?

Nice photos .... makes me wish i was there insteady of here bakeing cakes for the race

so far we have

cherry madeira

cranberry flapjacks

choccy fudge

lemon grizzle

and vanilla melting moments

not bad for a start:D

Glad everyone enjoyed the day out, oh and the compliments, I don't know what to say :o but Swoop you need to ask Emmilou or Moo why I'm not an expert! Great piccies Huw, Dudley reckons you got his best side and says thanks. His only regret of the day was not quite releasing the meat pie from its rucsac prison;) , says he'll try better next time.
Wonder if Wynne will save any cake for the junior helpers on race day?

It is a lovely route, and a very nice way to round off a great nights camping .... all be it on a popped air bed :eek:

Good bickies wyn, and a good incentive to get me to the finish on the day :D

The Wa! races will all be twice half their length and yet cunningly still within the limits set out in the handbook, and if our flags arrive back in time, each course will be colour coded too.:D There thats cleared that one up!

I notice from the handbook that the children's races start from another village hall
about 100m West of the usual one. I didn't notice it when we were there last Friday!;)

Ah but theres a strategy here......

So I show you the wrong way, but make it sound VERY convincing,,,
(just remember Ive already told you to head towards honister)
and you show two other people...
and they show two each.more..
then very soon, the whole field goes the wrong way..

so I hide behind a rock , then go the RIGHT way

That way I get all of wynns cakes yippeee!...and scarper before the lynch mob arrive!

Ok, so out of the entire FRA it's now only Amadablam, Fellrunner and me who haven't either raced this last year or reccied it to death.

Any clues on where it goes? I can play follow-the-leader to Dale Head, but:

- is the best line from High Spy to Cat Bells the tourist path with some straightens?

- route down from Catbells?
