Hope you all enjoyed the weekend ! :)
Cheers Bill (just enjoying the bottles of Tim Taylor's Landlord you kindly gave me :) ) and many thanks to you and all the race marshalls and helpers at CVFR for making the Midsummer Madness weekend such a great event again.
The Reservoir Bogs race had an extra reservoir and a few more bogs thrown in this year so was very good value for money :D
After doing the 3 races I will definitely sleep well tonight !
You mean 'hair don't'. :D
A fantastic weekend. BillJ could give masterclasses in race organisation: absolutely brilliant. The results were published, all category winners sorted, year-on-year improver stats worked out, all within minutes. In fact, the prizegiving for today's race and the series as a whole began only nineteen minutes after the last finisher crossed the line. (Is that a pb?!:D)
As a marshal on Friday and Sunday, I was close at hand to appreciate the amazing effort put in by Bill and all his family. The children were stars too, circulating the printed results and keeping the prizes moving. (Glad you finally got shot of the corkscrew, kids...!)
Bill even flagged the Tittiman course himself this morning, after a hard night's ceilidhing.
It was fitting that Anne J won the women's race.
Congratulations to James Logue and Chris for their performances today - a new record for James - and to series winner Jason Williams of Leicester Owls, who had some storming runs, not least at Wicken Hill on Friday. Nice to see a host of old friends, including Invisible from Springfield and the Telford/Shropshire contingent.
I understand now why Bill was chuckling about the Bogs route - especially checkpoint 2 . Enjoyed it though, despite several poor choices which probably cost me (and the people ill-advised enough to be following me) about 10 minutes. I've made a mental note to arrive early enough next year to have a proper look at the map and mark it up in advance.
Brilliant organisation, all credit once again to Bill. I think 'arse over elbow' would be a better expression: I spent an hour or so at Halifax hospital having grit picked out of said elbow after the Reservoir Bogs on Saturday. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, I was a bit tentative descending the track down to the lane after Tom Tittiman on Sunday.

Wicken Hill Whizz (Fri 18th 7:30pm, from Mytholmroyd Community Centre, 1000' up to trig point and then straight back down.) Then into the spiritual home of Fantasy Fellrunning, the Shoulder of Mutton!
Reservoir Bogs (Sat 19th 11:30am, from Hare & Hounds above Hebden Bridge, interesting route choices ;)) Top band & top beer in the pub in the evening
Timothy Taylors Tom Tittiman (Sun 20th midday, from Hare & Hounds - fast blast)
Who's coming to any of these races over next weekend?
I know that Friday's race has terrible timing, to clash with England's game. So I guess numbers are going to be down for that.
Hoping to get big screen TV rigged up at Sheepstones Bill if that helps
Bill,
I'll be there. I got some time off work organised for this weekend. If you need any help prior to the races, let me know and I can get there early.
G.
I'll be there for the Whicken Hill Whizz, and possibly the Tom Tittiman depending on what time I get back from the Lakes on Sunday.
Hope to catch you all there!
There will be a few Springfield Striders as usual. I shall be trying not to fall over, or not conspicuously at any rate.
All being well two ponies are going to give this a go, can you pay for all three at one go and retain your number for the three races??
Be good to see you there Amex.
By the way - you don't keep the same number from race to race (for one thing the state of some of the numbers after Reservoir Bogs last year would render this impossible ! ;))
Usually the number you get for the Sat and Sun races reflects your current position in the series. So whoever is leading gets number 1, etc. That way you can see who your rivals are.
But I'm not sure if I've got any sets of numbers beginning with 1 this year, so they might have to start at 1001 or something !!
Shh. You're not meant to tell anyone that Saturday's race goes to Stoodley. ;)
Its alright, I don't think anyone has spotted it.
I should be there for friday night and maybe even the others if i can get there
no, can't see res bogs going up stoodley. the extra climbing could mean dimingdale edge.
Going to be a nice weekend so if you have nothing planned come and have a run and thank Bill for all his efforts in starting and maitaining the Fantasy Fellrunners league and cups.
Anybody got a map of tonight's race please?? or where it goes??
Thanks
Steve

Enjoy Steve:)
Yay just leaving for our annual fell running holiday where I try to beat Kate in the series and ignore the fact that she's just run the LAMM.
See you all there!
Just been out to flag tonight's race.
The moors are as dry as I've ever seen them!
Results now on CVFR website: http://www.cvfr.co.uk/Races/3day/Whizz/whizz2010.htm
I'll put the summit positions on the results when I get a chance.
Well done Darren - new record. :)
The results now have summit positions.
Bill
Won't make reservoir bogs - childcare issues - hope to do Tom Tittiman though. Use the £3.33 race as you see fit, perhaps for a knobbly competition on the final prize giving.
Best wishes
Bill, many thanks to you and your team for organising such a great event today, Ressie Bogs.
Also thanks for getting your two top orienteers to take different lines at the start and give us all an immediate route choice dilemma! I chose the Logue route, and the boy did right!
Glad your enjoyed it Clive. It was entertaining to watch the start as everyone immediately fanned out in all sorts of directions!
