Good luck everyone.
Will there be any presence at the race by Inov8? Stall/van, etc?
Can't ask Inov8 Insider as his inbox is full!!
Hi Folks,
We have had a very thin sprinkling of snow this afternoon whilst I was out with my 2yr old son putting out flags. At the time the snow was not sticking as its been quite warm recently and the ground is no longer frozen.
I'm confident that even if some snow sticks the race will still go on. There's no chance we can have as much snow as was on the Nine Standards race this year!
Just started making soup for you lot to warm up wth after the race.
Hope to see you all tomorrow.
Morgan
Hope I can recover in time for tomorrow
You will you are SuperFellRunner quicker than a speeding ferret.:D
Anyone taking bets on this year's winner? My money's on Nicky Craig.
We actually had a view today! 1st race in 4 months and it felt like it. 5 mins slower than 2 years ago but was quite pleased to get round in one piece in 1:21:00. The main climb was quite easy even with the snow, plenty of snow on a lot of the descent as well. Bumped into Freckle before the start - hope you had a good race. Didn't see IPD so I am guessing his legs were seized from yesterday's recce.
1st & 2nd Borrowdale
3rd Horwich
Another well organised High Cup Nick Fell Race. Big thanks to everyone involved especially the Marshals and the Mountain Rescue Team and of course whoever made that delicious soup!
4th time I've done this race now and only today did I finally get to admire the view from the top. I will upload all the pictures I took sometime this evening but in the meantime enjoy this sneak preview:

Look forward to the pics Plodder - nice work, hope you enjoyed yourself.
Cracking race, wonderfully arranged - I love the way the village gets involved. Wonderful preview of the pics Plodder. Some glorious views today.
Well, i got round! :o eventually....
but...what a wonderfully organised race, many thanks to the organisers who were extremely pleasant and supportive.
fantastic scenery with a good dose of clarts, snow and a little bit of a climb....all in all a lovely start to the fell running year...
oh and it was good to bump into a fellow forumite too (Ade hope you had a canny one)
ps great pics plodder!
Another great race. The community spirit is really nice with a traditional start/finish right in the middle of the village. Great marshalling and course-marking.
I've uploaded my photos to my road and fell gallery. You can see ThePlodder in a few of them. I'm the one with the fetching purple striped hat in his pics.
It's interesting to compare them to the ones I took last year to see the difference in the weather and views.

I really enoyed this race, the scenery was stunning, many thanks to the organisers, helpers & to the village of Dufton :):)

New female course record.
Must be a few forumites venturing to Dufton for this next weekend ? hope to be there if I can get transport
Yeah - look forward to this one - did it for the 1st time last year - fantastic in the snow!
Also hoping to be able to do this one next week for the first time.
it has the sounds of a classic - a toss-up between this or the noonstone
if you havent been to High Cup Nick before, I'd do this :)
transport sorted, i'll be there :-)
Nowt wrong with Noonstone but this one is a good route. Impressive U shape valley with a grand rocky climb out at the head and then a gentle but ever lasting downhill back.
I have done Noonstone several times but have never done High Cup Nick so I intend to put that right this weekend. :D
great race great views
but
doh
i left my muddy mudclaw 333 on the carpark outside the pub
anyone find them please??
First time I have run this race or visited the area. It felt more like a Geography field trip than a fell race  I don't know who won but I did spot Jebby at the start so that might be a clue ;) My thanks to the organisers, marshalls and all those nice people who baked those cakes
Rob was second. Dunno who won it though, sorry. It was a beltin' race. Many thanks to Morgan and his team for putting it on from all at Darwen Dashers. Well, not all. My missus hated it - she discovered that actually she does have vertigo and is scared of being washed away in fast flowing water!
Great race - think there was a quality field there today.
Anyone know who the camera man was taking shots on the final few miles?
well done to all the marshalls - great soup and cakes!
Fantastic race, superbly organised by Morgan & his team, the village is lovely. Many thanks to all the marshals & the people who help out to make the soup & variety of cakes.
The climb is well worth the effort, you have to pause on the top & look back down the valley to appreciate it.
Many thanks to the lovely man who let us park on his drive & use his loo....
First time that I've raced this route and I really enjoyed it. The rocks make it tricky underfoot, but the views were superb - by the time I made it to the top the sun had come out, so the river up the valley was sparkling, took my mind of how knackering that climb had been!
I didnt compete due to injuries but kids did the excellent junior races. Bella and Florence Reed did well in the 10/12 age group and Daisy the only girl in the 14 and above!!
Dufton is an idyllic village and the weather held to make a great day and the kids felt really elated on the journey back to Nottingham. thanks to Morgan,Lucy and all the team for the best day of our holiday.
Winner was..... Ricky Lightfoot 01:02:43 Ellenburgh
really enjoyed the race, struggled on the boulder feild mind and lost bit of ground :/ fantastic scenery, had to stop at the top of the nick to soak the veiws up, amazingly fast run down off the ridge with more glorious veiws across the eden valley to the howgills and lakes ahead. Thanks to everyone involved in putting the race on. Seemed to be a good turnout, few hundred maybe ...
Photos are on the Dufton website. Can't do those clever link thingies that will take you to it.

First group is a series of our 'master' fell racer Mark France falling on his butt.
