Thanks for the offer, that's great if you don't mind. If I'm too slow finishing don't wait round though! I'll make myself known or pm before the race. Looks like I'm the only Bingley runner in the race, although weather will probably dictate vests are not on show!
cheers
Mandy
Apart from the vest fetishists that is. ;)
Just back from a trip over Bleaklow, saw a few people but not sure who they were, said they weren't forumites.
Brilliant conditions this morning, very crisp and clear, an absolute pleasure to be out. :)
You must have been out early Andy, If I'd know you were out I would have set off earlier. Saw plenty of fresh studmarks, very crisp wasn't the word I was thinking off when running back.
Another group from Penistone were heading out this PM.
Incidently there were lots of new cairns popping up above Torside.:mad:why:confused: all these will do is attract more runners to the same trod causing erosion.
I ran from Crowden car park to the Snake pass and back. I saw two ladies running and a handful of walkers. The cold wind was biting especially on the exposed North facing slopes. I managed to locate the alternative path to the Snake but across the tops I think I will stick to the Pennine Way on the day of the race.
Reminds me of years ago when the route was up Rollick Stones and Wild Boar Clough, cairns started to appear and then someone took it upon themselves to paint dots on relevant rocks.
Tanky changed the route because of it.
Cairns are useful on well walked paths but not in the middle of nowhere.
