I now have a club mate coming along with me for this
Can't make a recce on 9th November either I'm commited to doing the High Peak relay.
2 of us (BritNick and me) are doing a recce on Sat 22 Nov, the last bit about 15/20miles everyone welcome, let me know
That may be a lot more doable.
had an interesting day yesterday, lovely route. some of the nav was a bit fiddly but i'm sure the recee will be worth its weight in cake on the day
i used the strip maps which were excellent, better than the map...its hard to pin point exact places i think its just a case of being concientous and keeping on top of where you are. a couple of times we were just chatting away, taking the obvious path and then we realised we'd missed the junction etc
and there was a freshly ploughed field which had hidden the path, but a friendly farmer gave us a shout (this was just after going under the M18)
Chris, can you give an idea of the checkpoint you propose running from? I may have an issue with having to get back home sharpish that day.
Hi Nick
thants ok NIck, just let me know? cp 5 would give us about 14miles (cp 4 - 20miles) Suggest be there early as possible? Is anyone else coming along?
Time to get serious I think. As Saturday marks start of November and this coming weekend happens to be a free weekend for me I'll be taking the opportunity to do back to back long runs aiming to cover at least 50 miles between them.
