Had a really good 5 miles at lunchtime on trails. Weather hot and humid, trails dry, mood good and got better. This is running!:D
After the downpour, 35 mins continuous including a 150m climb. Hard work tonight....:(
12 miles last night
very muddy around here :)
Bolton Abbey Cricket club to Barden Bridge through Strid Woods and back. beautiful morning and sun came out as got back to Cav Pav. Beans on toast and large mug of Yorkshire tea. Feeling good :)
Don't normally post on here but just thought I'd share yesterday's training. 30 miles along the South Downs Way in 5 hours; it's the longest distance I have ever run and I was surprised that it was nowhere near as difficult as I had anticipated...and before anybody chips in, yes I do know that 10 minute miles aren't going to set the world on fire...I was just a bit chuffed.:D
Cheers - Raymond
A very good effort RH.
Make my 12 today look insignificant, but I enjoyed it and did'nt get wet.:)
One of those days when I just couldn't be arsed to run....think I've over-raced this week :( .......enjoyed the races though ;) .
Don't know why I've posted this on "Todays Training" as I've not trained at all  . Guess I've got too much time on my hands.
40 mins easy yesterday - Nowt so far today.
Have just arrived at our holiday digs in Port Isaac, Cornwall. Our cottage is on squeezebelly alley, the narrowest thoroughfare in the world. Not the best place for the BMW I loaned to geet us down here.

got logged onto WWW with my iBook no probs - no password required to piggyback someones wireless
supposedly easy 5 miler along the coast path to the next village from here.
Was VERY hilly, twisty, steep steps etc. Not my best idea. Supposed to be doing a 5mile road race tonight.
nice 6.5 miles today over the moors :)
Absolute nothing...:o *
But race tomorrow! :)
* Unless trailing round shops in Leeds most of day then painting steel girder over garage counts for owt...?
15 min warm up
horwich 5k race, ran crap worked to hard on the second lap and blew up on the last lap.
Not to bothered though cos i've managed to do the best week of training that i have done all year.So hopefully will start to get race fit soon.
25 min cool down
I managed a miserable 8 miles over winter hill, Borrowdale seems so far away :(
Gravy 6 route this afternoon. Nice to get covered in dirt again
Horwich 5k road race. Warm up and down. 1 hour steady when I got home.
8 miles in that rain earlier
legs felt okay after yesterdays recce at borrowdale
made 65 miles for the week
just wish i had those fells 2 hrs nearer:(
nice 4.5 mile tonight managed to miss all the rain :p :p
Hurrah, think I can post on here again now! What with me having actually done a run, in the hills and mud and all that! :D
Saturday managed a 20sec pb on my little route round the hills in bolton.
Did make an effort to see how far away I was from when I was running regularly and amazing was quicker. It hurt and was tired and got blisters (feet must ave gone soft:mad: ) but looks like all that cycling was a good idea.
Couple of bike sessions yesterday as well as watching some bike road racing round horwich (how fit was the womens national champ :D )
So fingers crossed I'll be out for a run tonight!
well done Daz - you were making light work of those Mountains I was glad when you whizzed off into the distance and stopped making it look far too easy;)
Nothing for me yesterday unless you count a 4 year old birthday party to attend with a bunch of screaming kids in the rain on a farm:eek:
worked last night and was so nice to see everybody struggling whilst I sat and had a rest!!
Someone remind me what season it is? A very very wet 10 miles on paths and hills around my area. Bloody wet. Round the Resers, which is wednesday, is under water!!!!
Cant imagine what the gravy 6 route is like just now. I did it yesterday and it was very wet and muddy then. Been looking at houses today so nothing yet - might do a quick 5 mile scoot on the roads in next half hour. Still a bit jet lagged
Chose the wrong day to run to work. Opened the door and for a split second thought about turning around, but I wouldn't let myself
Luckily it stopped just before tonights run, so it was good fun splashing about...
The trail was wet tonight but nothing major. The small section of road between the farm and rejoing the trail was about a foot under water. But, by the time I got to this stage I was wet enough so running through it didn't make any difference.
Why you looking at houses? You can't take them to the USA with you.
What you doing Wednesday? Round the Resers or Shelf Moor?
Ok just got back from a 5 miler on the roads. Still wet but the rain had stopped. Glad no one from here saw me out - my running gear was a bit strange tonight - Long union jack shorts and a clingy white t shirt. The missus decided to wash my other stuff.
Looking at houses for a buy to let. Not sure if I can do either Shelf or Resers - familt event planned for weds. Working on plans to escape for an hour - any suggestions?
One hour on some trails around brushes reser and along the canal.
3k race tomorrow if the weather's ok.
spent most of the morning soaked wet through, only to step into a shallow puddle that suddenly became waist deep and covered in crap!!
roads became rivers today not nice and not good to watch, what season are we in again as Raodrunner asked earlier??
training wise sod that for a game of soldiers!!
cycle saturday :D
long walk yesterday :)
nothing today
1 hour of circuit training yesterday :)
5 mile this morning. Couldn't see a thing because the sun was so bright. Slight contrast to yesterday.
95 miles on West Highland Way last saturday:D
