20miles or so by Leeds-Liverpool canal this afternoon. Called at Saltaire for lunch - pizza, choc brownies with ice-cream, local beer and espresso. All rather pleasant
Just done my 12 mile, cracking watching the sun go down and a full moon coming up on the way back. A chill in the air but glad to be out:)
Rehab is not nice merry but worth it in the long run;)
Wonder if we should organise a get together bike ride in next few weeks? 15 or 20mile 'social' pace, with a cafe or pub stop :) Calderdale? ;)
I took 2 of my bikes for a visit to see their friends this weekend...
Didn't actually ride either of them, but one of them has been to hospital for a minor operation... :D
I need to post this, as it has been in my head ever since you changed your signature DT :)

Let me have a look at my calendar tomorrow at work and I'll let you know. I've only got a mountain bike but I just thought it'd be nice to get out for a couple of hours steady away. Calderdale's good for me :) I thought merry might be up for it and anyone else who fancied a 'social' ride out
There is a steady 23 mile route that goes past this place.

Hand pulled TT and Blacksheep.
It won't be a race DT, I only potter:)
You set the date and if your happy we can have a pint at half way and soup and sandwich's back at ours:)
That sounds perfect Stagger! :)
I've got a few races in next few weeks but Saturday October 10 or 24 suits me Stagger and merry. Flexible with time :)
Just looked at the work calendar and it transpires that the colleague has booked both those weekend days off!!! So can't do the 24th after all :(
Mind you, I do have two whole weekends off in October so I suppose he is compensating for that by making me work last weekend and the weekend on 24/25 so can't say much
Haven't really been for a long bike ride before but yesterday went Dent > Hawes > Fleet Moss > Wharfedale > Embsay > Skipton. 50 miles and an ace ride, but got rained on at the top of Fleet Moss and the hill above Embsay, meaning some pretty slithery descents.
Anyone fancy the Tour of the Peak? http://www.kilotogo.com/index.php?op...ail&event_id=6
Might have a bash (but need to get another couple of long rides in or it'll kill me!)
Sorted for Saturday 24 then Stagger and merry
A trip up to Ingleton (the 4 other riders out gave in to the weather at Settle). Nice sarnie at Inglesport cafe and then back over Bowland Knots. About 74 miles with a nice climb in the middle. Very wet.
14 mile this afternoon.
Two punctures in rear tubes and a loose spoke.:o:mad::o
Have you got a track pump Trev? Try and stick with 100psi and make sure the tyres are in good condition. Once they start getting worn they become puncture magnets. Check the rear for wear as the canvas soon starts to show through..............
Cheers Ady
I put a new tyre on last friday (£10 halfords) got 2 punctures with 85psi in.
Put a brand new Conti Ultra sport on with 95psi this teatime did 12 mile got puncture, changed the tube did another mile and got another:o
The wheel needs true-ing and a new spoke for the loose one so I will let Aire Valley Cycles do the job and have new tape and a new tube fitted.
Perhaps the loose spoke was poking up through the rim tape and cutting into the tube? Shop will sort it for you, felt tape is much better than plastic if you have a say in it - happy cycling :)
Cheers Ady;)
Thursday club ride which was steadish out to Scorton (19mph) and then 5 of us opted to come back through the Trough of Bowland and it was not far off race pace all the way back to Whalley. Good work out and great fun though! 70 miles at a touch under 19.
A steady 10 mile with sore quads after yesterdays trip to physio.
Great to be out though:)
Calderdale MTB Marathon, a tough course by anyones standards, knocked 21 mins off my best time, 2 years ago, that was with gears. Love my singlespeed, and less time to clean it = more time for Guinness:cool:
70 Miles with the club ride up to the cafe (closed) at Horton-In-Ribblesdale. A U-turn and back through Helwith bridge to Wharfe and then a 1.75 mile off road section to the cafe at Feizor. Off roading with 23mm road slicks is not ideal and just as I thought I had made it make to the smooth stuff my back wheel caught a rock at a nasty angle and deflated my tyre. Was only a 3 minute run (in cleats) to the cafe though and I had it changed before the back markers turned up. A nice soup & cake followed by an uneventfull ride back through the back lanes under a blue sunny sky made for a good ride out. Average was a social 16.5mph. Always a treat going up the Dales.
Edit: No toplessness today but will be vestless tommoz for my hill run :-)
2010 L'Etape Du Tour route announced.

Was a little rough on the outward leg to Scorton this morning but felt a little better on the return. Nice and steady (fortunately) with no Trough of Bowland extension this week (thankfully). Probably about 58 miles at a sensible pace.
Heading up to literally the border between Jocks and England for the trails @ Newcastleton and Kielder this weekend.
Going to be nice a fresh in the tent!!
