Does anyone have results for Tanky's Trog for 1999,2000, or 2001 that you can PM me?
Thanks,
Has Claire got an info about access rights this year, she was really struggling with Bleaklow last year
Hi All
Yes its that time of year...AGAIN!!!
Many of you have been very eager and have sent emails requesting applications forms...I've even had an entry in although I've not published the form yet!!!
Please bare with me as I am sorting the permissions and access 1ST this year..the applications have plenty of time...
For those that have sent in an enquiry to [email protected] then you will receive an entry form in due course.
There are NO preferential treatment to those that entered last year, sorry, too much of a headache!
If anyone is not running and can volunteer for check points, kit checks, crossing marshalls etc please contact me on the same email.
Will be back soon with more details
Regards
Clair
Excellent. We'll be meeting every Wednesday as soon as the clocks go back.
Someone said our membership had been sagging of late, but I don't know what they mean by that.

See you soon.

Tried to send you the money but the bank require a name of the account to send it to; what to use?
Have emailed it you but it might be worth putting on here too.
Cheers
Stuart
Just emailed off my application. Really excited about this as it'll be my first Tankeys, it looks great. Need to get Recce'ing now.
Good point, the bogs will have to wait.
Just been having a look at the Trigger forum
http://forum.fellrunner.org.uk/showt...-Trigger/page5
They seem to be pretty OK on access, wonder what is happening with the decision for Tanky's?
The build up to this race is a bit quiet and it is only three weeks to go before the closing date for entries. Does anyone have an idea of how many have entered already and whether the route and access have been sorted for this year? Have my entry form ready to go but just holding back for now - would like to be sure this was going to take place first, weather permitting!
Any update from Clair or others in the know would be appreciated.
yes sorry its been quiet...totally hectic behind the scenes though! Currently I'm around the 100 entrants..entries very slow this year..had some permissions through but not all and I'm busy chasing.
A major hiccup is the withdrawl of the event support of Woodhead Mountain Rescue who have provided support for almost 40years but have decided that they cannot provide support to this years event due to operational commitments. I am currently trying to contact other teams and I am earnestly looking for ideas and volunteers to assist with the marshalling. If you can help please email me on [email protected]
Also please pass on the word to anyone who is wanting to enter. My intention is to email last years entrants however I am not able to find the time to create the huge address list to go with it yet!!!
Thanks
What's the situation on this race? If there are no permissions is it cancelled and would I get a full refund? I'm thinking of an entry having done it a few years ago. I know there's no entries on the day usually...it's getting close to closing
me too until i get confirmation of the route my entry stay at home
question how can you put on a race and take money with out knowing your route?
On an other note clare, thanks for the mass email this morning but I rather have not had my work email sent to 230 ppeople
Having changed email address since last year, I didn't get the mass mailing from Clare. Could someone please post the content of the message?

"Hi
As an entrant for last years Trog I have attached this years entry form for you should you wish to re enter. It has taken me a while to get round to sending this to you as i've been so busy however there are still quite a few places left so you are not too late at all!
Please note that it is now possible (fingers crossed) for payment via bank transfer either online or within your branch and you can email the entry form to me. Please just remember to ensure your name is on the reference for the transfer!!
I'm currently waiting for confirmation of any route restrictions from the authorities.
If there are any other queries please dont hesitate to contact me.
Regards
Clair"
Hope that helps
Seems to me that Tanky's Trog organisation has become a bit of a joke. I've emailed Clair with my points of contention and not had any reply as yet. We didn't seem to have these problems when Dark Peak organised it.
think it's only fair to mention that it wasn't DP that organised it.
Plumbum(RO extrodinaire) was the main man (Penistone) with myself and Brent(Penistone) helping, All are members of MRT
Clair did the finish, food and prizes and provided friends to help out at CP's
By ecK Zephr, that'were a long massage (11th - 29th Oct) - anywhere nice with missus then? I have a half day to take off next (this) week if tha fancies a Bleaklow / Kinder / Black Hill run (trot!) in the light - my ankles dont like the night time torch-lit stuff...
Hey OB1,
Fraid that Im nursing a bit of an achilles issue at the moment. Should be fine in a week or so, but suspect it'll take much much longer than that if I start gallivanting across the bogs before its fully healed... thanks for the offer though, I'll get the binoculars out and watch you floundering around in the mud instead.
Man... being injured is SO boring. I dont think I'll bother doing it again.
I am sure the organiser is doing their best to make this race happen and could do without some of the negative and unsupportive comments that have been posted on this thread of late.
I hear you Rollerblade, but with five weeks to go I want to know the details, i.e. route and safety/marshalling, before I lay out 50% more than last year's fee. Four weeks left to recce, but where to recce? I am not being negative, Tanky's was why I got into the sport.
I say it as i see it pal. Is the forum not to discuss such issues. I've raced Tanky's twice before and enjoyed both the organisation and the race itself.
Last year it was cancelled due to the weather, i lost my entry fee and i believe a fiver went to mountain rescue which i'm more than happy with.
I don't agree with the 50% price rise this year and i can't say i feel easy the uncertainty as to whether the race has got permission to accesss certain areas.
If stating the facts is negativity it's a poor do
OB1- I look forward to the chocolate. Please make it either Milk or White, (which I know isnt real chocolate, but there you go), as I'm a wimp and dont like the bitterness of dark.
As to race organisation, I dont think they need another guy with a baseball bat running around the moors, sophisticated as I may seem, my negotiation powers basically rely upon common sense and a big stick.
As to not knowing where to recce... to be honest, I think its great. I cant recce with my heel like this, so therefore anyone who is out there learning the route is cheating in my book. :p
Must admit I'm getting a bit twitchy about this race. I have entered but as a confirmed plodder I will be near the back and need to know where we will be allowed to go as following others is not an option for me. Have tried mailing RO but no response and my cheque has not yet been banked. I would really appreciate an update whether positive or negative please.
With the hike in costs and lack of information, how do you deem the truth to be negative or unsupportive?
Also taking 50% of the entry last year for a race that never happened?
We are a very supportive bunch on here BUT also a very honest and open bunch.
Communication cost nothing.
Heyup, for those in need of a 'Plan B or C' on 4th Dec, there is always the glorious 5m Gravy Pud (EOD) from Tintwistle (Bulls Head) at 11.00 am, out and over Lees Hill and back, with post-run cake, cake, and more cake. Yes, my team of cake bakers are committed to getting baking (I just managed to convince them tonight). If 5 miles sounds too short to roll out of bed for (MC?) then you could always tag on a piece (loop) of the Crowden-Shelf-Snake fells to the day's outing before / after G'Pud. Just a thought for those of you've already committed cash to travel to these lovely parts, as well as those who haven't. :)
