Gutted - the change of date in 2013 will clash with the Cross Challenge at Liverpool so my 2 year run of Tours looks like it's over now with the date change :(
Hopefully they'll change the Cross Challenge date
Thankfully managed to do both this year and enjoyed the ToP more, it was much easier and less painful. And easier going underfoot :p
Having said that everyone should try and do the xc eurotrials at least once. Being in a field where you aren't going to be in the top 100 unless you're a 30 min 10k runner is quite an experience.
How do I enter for 2013? I don't follow the instructions on the Fellrunner listing and Clayton's website is no help, just shows results.
Use FRA universal entry form (left hand tab on events) then send to Kieran Carr with the money, well worth the entry fee.
What problem are you having with the FRA website? I entered a while back from the FRA event page. Just print off the FRA form (on left of page), & send cheque as it says on the page.
No idea about the race though: it's the first time I've entered. It's a good hill!
Cheques? Never used one in my life. Will cash do?
Currently updating/creating a dedicated tour of pendle page for our website which will link to the FRA form etc... In the meantime like others have said Cheque for £7 to Kieran Carr or pay £15 on the day cash without the guarantee of a t shirt!
Had a trot round the pertinent sections of the tour a couple of weeks ago and it was bone dry, if not too dry for my liking, however, yesterday it was back to the usual bog-a-thon!
Very saturated up there, making it very interesting on the descents!
Right, managed to locate my arse with both hands and have entered. I'm not much better at running that I am at web navigation.
Which bits are worth a recce please, off up there on Satuday for a jog around, but racing sunday so don't fancy 17 miles!
thanks!
Could anyone send me the .gpx or similar trace for a recce please :D

I think climbs 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 make sense. Climb 5, however, was put in by some sadist to get that all-important A-category rating. Climb 4 is where it could all start going wrong, and if it does, the Big End is the bolt-gun to the head of your race.
You are right the climb is to make it into AL race. The course was devised by John Read (Clayton-le-Moors) in the early 80's. You are lucky his original idea of another climb was removed. This climb was between checkpoint 3 (Churn Clough) and checkpoint 4. You would have climbed up to the first wall crossing on Spence Moor from checkpoint 3, drop down to Stans Hut (Stainsomb) then climb back over Spence Moor to checkpoint 4.
Was thinking this morning whilst on Pendle what a grand idea it would be to drop down the steps after the big end climb and then up the front as per the Pendle race to the trig before hoofing it to the last CP..........................
Got me entry in for this but just noticed cut off at bottom of Geronimo is 1hr 30 I normally pass thru there at 1hr45  and finish around 4hrs.
So looks like if you are over 3:30 you'll be at risk of timing out.
Sure it used to be 1hr 50, has it tightened up?
On the race info it states 12.30

I'm up for my 25th FTOP this year.
1987 was my first in 3.15.39
1992 was my best in 2.39.53
2001 was no race due to F&M desease
2012 was my worst in 3.26.06
2013................???
I'll be in the Pendle Inn afterwards drinking Moorhouses from the tankard Kieron presented to me for my 21st FTOP.
Cheers :)
