I sat on the turbo on the patio yesterday morning, doing standing start intervals... in a howling headwind, to keep me cool... the occasional rain helped as well :) Deemed it too dangerous to head out, thought I'd get blown away! Managed an easy ride in the evening after work though with a mate for shelter. Wind had died down by then. Picked up again in the night now blowing a gale again, so glad it is a restday today :)
Oh and another race on Saturday... bliddy flippin 'ard is all I say about it... :)
I hate wind... crosswinds blow me off the bike, headwinds make me go backwards... don't mind a tailwind though ;)
I remember toe-straps.................and bicycle clips, still got some somewhere.
Attachment 4729 Hann these are the wheels you need when the wind dies down. I thought it was you when I saw the advert. Are you racing for campagnolo now ?????
LOL Daz :) nah, no campy sh*te for me, I am a Shimano lady ;)
I only started cycling recently Daz, so no, I dont remember toestraps... think you are right about roadies... it is so hard, not many do it and certainly even fewer women... now explain, why am I doing this bikle racing lark? ;)
Bit belated post but 12 of us did the Pennine Bridleway, Kirkby Stephen back to Penistone, over 4 days starting Royal wedding day.
146.5 miles (110 off road) with 7070 metres of uphill. A brilliant long weekend out.
