Sedbergh Hills Race 2014 – Change to Parking
Owing to a waterlogged cricket pitch – Bertha is to blame – race parking is no longer available at Sedbergh School. Race parking is now at Sedbergh Sports Field, 1k, east of the town on A683 GR672924 – from west/M6 go thru town on Kirkby Stephen road – follow the yellow signs.
It’s about 10mins walk from Peoples Hall but park and bike is a good option – plenty of room for bikes and kit at Peoples Hall. Changing rooms – showers – and plenty of loos available.
Please do NOT” fly park” in the town – it just hacks the locals off – we are very dependent upon the goodwill of the rural community. Parking is only £2 per car.
Race timing will be by sportident. Please remember to bring your completed Registration Form which you can exchange, at the appropriate desk in Peoples Hall, for your race number and sportident dibber. Registration opens at 09.00 – 383 entries so can some of you please register early to help spread the load!
Apologies for late change.
Just found out my van is off the road (potentially indefinitely...) due to fuel tank leakage so...
I have a potential entry available for Sunday. I'd need to get in touch with Jon Broxap re: substitutions so close to day of race first. Anyone interested?
Good luck one and all enjoy the amazing howgills, have tried every crazy internet remedy but can not shift chest infection so not going to make start, gutted
Those narrow muddy paths traversing sloping terrain do not get any easier - and was that a bit of sleet at one stage? Thanks to the marshals and the RO - a tough event.
Wouldn't have fancied marshalling the top of the Calf today, I had to put some gloves on there it was freezing, big thanks to all Marshals stuck out in that!
Also well done to Victoria Wilkinson, obliterating the womens record by over 5 minutes!
I was thinking of you all as i was getting blown around and rained on during my low level run today, probably the worst type of weather for this event.
Many thanks to Jon and all his helpers. It must of been pretty grim for today's marshals but you wouldn't of known it, everyone of them shouted encouragement.....what stars these guys are.
Well done to Rob and Vic on their victories.
