Very nice and tasty.
A pint of Hetton Pale followed by 2 pints of Mary Jane. Cracking. The loose lips got me & my mate in to deciding to run The Dales Way. Mmm, let's see how I feel about that in the morning.
A brace of Landlord in the White Lion. With bacon sandwiches and cheese on toast.
Then some more in the Front Room.
Derby, where were you?
White stout - beautiful
Just a couple of bottles of Sneck Lifter.
Carb loading for my long race tomorrow.
A pint of extra cold Guinness in Ilkley Vaults after doing a 25 mile recce of the Trollers Trot. Slipped down a treat !
Jez, you'll know the answer to this conundrum: what's happened to all the Booths beer bargains? Popped in to stock up and there was a real dearth of offers and reductions. Most disappointing.
I'm turning to the dark side tonight with a £1.38 bottle of Tesco's own dark ale (4.5%). It's quite nice.
Is this going to help drive down the cost of beer, or put small breweries out of business?
My ex-landlady's partner runs a brewery (Storm Brewery in Macclesfield, home of the best-named beer I've ever heard of - Silk of Amnesia). So I could get a crate from him instead.
Are Tesco beers evil?
Are you sure there's any beer in the bottles? I've just bought 2 Blu-Ray movies in Tesco and all I have is empty cases...
2 bottles of Arran Blonde (and a large Cab-merlot) in preparation for my weekly 12 miler tomorrow
Tonight i sampled yer jarrow brewerys' "rivet catcher" a fine ale, not too potent at 4.2% light yet flavoursome, carbo loading for tomorrows 14 miles
I was in there the other day mate & I agree. The offers are a bit thin on the ground. Picked up my usual (& stunning Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome Stout !) & some Pride Of Oxford Golden Ale, which was only 99p (& an award winner). But, as you say, there were probably only about 4 or 5 offers on ale. Let's complain to the management !
Just enjoying my free bottle of Backgarden Brewing EKG Porter courtesy of Superflyguy ! Wow, incredible drop for a homebrew ! As good as anything you can get in the supermarkets. You should be selling this !
Cheers!
and thank you for marshalling today. a bottle of beer is the least you deserve, it must have been a bit breezy up there. sorry i couldn't hang around to meet you, Mrs SFG had arranged to go out for lunch. Two bottles of Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout and a beef roast :p
I was a little early for my sons XC race in Cullingworth today. So what to do but hit the pub. Had a rather nice Cullingworth Brewery Spot 'O Bother Porter.

@The Rev. Oh! Dear! Home brew or something else!!?
Aye but this was mucky stuff, I knew as I was drinking it, that it was going to end in tears, something wasn't quite right with the ale. The hostelry I was drinking in dont keep their beers so well, but its where my mates like to drink so often end up in there, think I'll be playing safe and keeping with the black stuff whenever im in there in the future
