Obvious. You need a new bum bag. You have too many shoes. Your wife is going to leave you.
Will send my bill later.

Thanks chaps i'll be on Ringing Roger snapping away and trying to control my dog at the same time!
More questions re kit I'm afraid.
Assuming that the level of required kit is downgraded from full waterproofs, then some of us would like to leave some kit behind. Will there be anywhere to safely leave kit in a bag, or will we need to walk back to our cars to drop it off?
Re Map, will a print-out on ordinary (A3) paper suffice?
Thanks
The fates are conspiring against me for this...
Nasty open foot injury and subsequent infection means antibiotics and a caution from the doc not to do anything too strenuous.
But I'm still running it.
Now, sudden family emergency dropped on me this morning means that despite living in Sheffield I'll actually be setting off from somewhere in the Cotswolds Sunday morning to get to the start line :w00t:.
I think that top three placing is looking a little in doubt ;).
Still, can't wait all the same.
I'm not part of the organisation, whale.
Last year I dumped a bag in the hall at registration or you could leave it in your car, it's up to you.
I recommend your map is water-proofed in some way. A piece of A3 will be a soggy mush in 2 mins if it's claggy. It's not a matter of passing the inspection, it's a matter of being able to use it.
Simon, sorry to hear that. Be careful, infection plus anti-biotics and strenuous exercise are not good for your heart.
you should be able to put a bag under the table just don't leave your new Iphone, sat nav and wallet in it.
At a push you can leave it in my car which if I remember last year I offered to BL.
My car will have about 10 cases of Rescue Ale in it, pre order now to avoid disapointment. £2 a bottle
4 bottles please IDP. See you there
BL - Noted and thank you. Think I'll be plodding rather than racing!
Ian - Six bottles for me please sir. Something to look forward to when I get off the tablets!
I'm afraid I'm going to be a non starter - have been suffering with lower back problems all week culminating in a 1st attempt to run this week lasting all of 3 mins. Was looking forward to it after missing out these last few years........hey ho
Kitcheck will be outside to allow some space indoors, I'll try and have the Ale nearby if you want to pick it up Pre race.
It gets quite hectic so don't be late.
I've just printed out my map and marked on the checkpoints.
Really looking forward to my first Edale Skyline:w00t:
Hi everyone
I've finally mangaged to get some Race Maps printed off. A3 on waterproof pretex paper. I will be there (near registration) an hour or two before the race with a good stock. £4.

Ooh brilliant thanks Neil, I'm going to get one, but not to navigate with, a souvenir for the wall!
Just want to check Ian, I'll be navigating the race using Stolly's map. It's brilliant so will be no problem at kit check, yes?

;)
always a classic
Well normally I'd agree with GF but the forecast is looking good, last year we let buffs pass but the descision is with the RO as with waterproofs bring more than you need you can always leave what you don't in the car.
If you took up the offer you could use 3 buffs!
Available on the day from Neil, paper copy only
Just out of interest do we use dibbers on the check points, if so does it get a bit crowded at the first point being so near to the start .
pete.
They used dibbers a couple of years ago but not last year.
Analogue pen and paper last year.
pretty certain no dibbers but if there was then Win hill would be the first as previously stated.
Just checked forecast, it's near perfect for a local ;)
5mph wind variable
No rain
Possibly claggy
6-10 degrees
Hi guys, just wondering about water, i used quite a lot on recce, is it possible to fill a camel pack at the last water stop, or is it possible to take your own and leave it at the stop ready to fill pack,if i make it on time!
Why on earth wouldn't a buff wouldn't be acceptable as a hat! If I carry an item that can only be used as a hat, it's usually one that's no thicker than a single layer of buff anyway, let alone in doubled-up form. And the hat has to be carried in addition to a waterproof jacket with a HOOD. Kit requirements for the skyline seem to be getting ever more ludicrous.
I have great sympathies for the good runner I spoke to during the week who decided not to do the skyline again when the requirement for a phone came in.
I have to agree (but I think they'll let buffs go in these conditions), but your post reminds me I've gone and lost my wooly hat this week. So whilst I've got enough kit to keep me alive for a week up there, I'm going to have to find a hat from somewhere on a Saturday night...
Ah Glen that's very kind of you! I'll be milling around the hall looking miserable from around 9:45. That's unless I change the clock in the wrong direction!
OK, OK - what I should, of course, have said is "Possibly; it depends on whether, given the conditions and the RO's views on the day, your buff is substantial enough to be acceptable as a hat or not".
As IDP points out, however, probably worth bringing along a hat as well, just in case some officious jobsworth at kit check with nothing better to do with their time (me, for example) feels the buff in question is not hat-like enough to be acceptable, given the conditions and the RO's views on the day.
I look forward to a long line of entrants resplendent in knotted white handkerchiefs ...
