61 miles and i found a new road today. Headwind was hard going out but great coming back. Nice and sunny but my bloody sky set up hasnt recorded the tour. Have to wait now until later to watch it.
Got home and trimmed badger, what a great job that is.
Changed the cosmics back to my climbing wheels today. Bike felt much easier on the climbs. This could be a full time thing.
There never seems to be a windless day down here to make full use of the cosmics.
65 very tough Peak District miles over a cracking new route. From Didsbury through Cheadle and Woodford and out to Bollington. A vicious climb up to Rainow and then along to Whaley Bridge - Chapel - Edale (via Mam Tor) Castleton - Hope - Winnats Pass and back via Chinley and Disley and Bramhall.
Definitely my favourite route but it wasn't without problems today, a puncture in Edale held me up and then catastrophe struck when my chain snapped in Chinley. With no tool to break my chain I was ready to get the train back to Manchester when a kind lady pointed me in the direction of a chap called Rory, who very kindly sorted my chain! An absolute diamond and friend of forumite Nikalas, so if you see him Nik say thanks again from me, he saved me a very difficult journey home!!!
18 something miles via a cafe :)

Well done mate.
Never had a chain go to be fair. Punctures normally about five minutes in good weather. Always carry a pair of those surgical type gloves with me.
I had a flat the other night, managed to ride on it for about 10 miles then it died. 3 miles from home.
Thats how it goes though.
I always use sram chains. But replace quite often. If you aint got a chain checker a simple ruler can be used.
Good effort
Cheers Daz it's a shame the ride was interrupted. Hardly saw another rider either, they must all be slogging up the Cat and Fiddle from Macc, I reckon this route is much better.
It's a kmc chain my dad was pretty surprised it went too - he said the only chains he's had that have gone are Campag chains....
