Cheers Rodders, looking forward to it. No real aches after last Saturday, and had the club Summer Handicap on Tuesday - 3 mile fell 'sprint'...had a decent pace, but no oomph, no gear changes...lots of rest and pasta and see what happens on the day!!
Last climb was a killer, but was a great race
Hope to see you there DJ.
I have been resting this week too (relative to recent weeks) - my current training 'strategy' is to rest one week in four.
I reccied the main loop from Holme Moss car park (including the Bareholme to Laddow Rocks bit) last week with a clubmate, but in the dry, and in mudclaws (which seemed fine), so I guess it will be rather wetter tomorrow after the last 24 hours of rain.
I have put my faith in Ugali (just polished off a mound with stew and allotment veg) rather than Pasta - so will have to compare notes with you post race! ;)
Ooh, I had to Google Ugali, looks interesting!
It's certainly going to be a day for grip, my old faithful Walsh's may get an airing. Realised earlier that I've been working off an old route map, so having to realign my head tonight. Going to be a tough race, but should be a great one too - see you there!
I'm working, but remember my attempt at it, back in 2010
I'll freely admit I suffered greatly!!
Good luck to all taking part, & I hope this evenings thunderstorms don't return for you all!!
1st 2 at Crowden seemed to have a healthy lead.
