AM- getting out of bed
12 miles and 2000' steady away this aft over to Clough Bottom Res. 50 hours to put in at work over the next 4 days so won't get much training in apart from a bit of shortish road I think.
wahey first run this week this morning managed 4.5 miles and my ankle was ok thank god for that :o
7.5 mile today over hobson moor :D
Fartlek session this morning in Heaton Park. 11 miles in total with warm up and warm down.
6 Miles this afternoon on Gravy 6 route.
couple of hours over langsett moors, very very boggy in places (outer edge etc) saw only grouse and the dog......great stuff
Open 10mile time trial on the A66 Keswick course. Just missed out (by 3 seconds) on getting a 25mph ride - damn.
Then drove down to Ambleside to recce the Rydal Round (essentially the Fairfield Horseshoe) for this coming Thursday. Legs felt a bit tired initially but I was only intending to jog round. Very ennjoyable, esp' below 2500ft when you could still see some magnificent views. Blummin chilly for 10mins while I was atop Fairfield mind you.
90 minutes on the moors around here. Lovely day for it.
I am sure I will have ran a few more miles by the end of the day.
3 miles , legs well aching:( after the borrowdale recce yesterday
gonna try a bit more later
couldn't face a run - legs aching too!
Went to the gym and did a spin 'extreme' class although suprisingly it wasn't as hard as it used to be:D
splash in the pool to follow - racing an old boy next to me - sorry couldn't resist!! - no he wasn't wearing armbands:rolleyes:
sauna and hydro pool to finish - lovely:)
Did 11.98 miles this morning with Sinatra at 9.15 this morning. Starting from Beacon Lane Car Park, todays run was along the Ashurst Beacon Fell Race course up to the Wiggin Tree. From there we crossed the road and did the Parbold Hill Race course starting and finishing at the Wiggin Tree. Finally we ran back down past the quarry, across Lees Lane and up hill back back to the Beacon before finishing at the nearby car park.
A great run through all types of terrain with some stiff hills to climb along the route.
Had a problem at the 5.5 mile marker coming through some very heavy muddy pathways and fields I turned my knee joint in deepish mud and had to take 5 mins out to try and get it to go back in (a long standing problem) managed to carry on although was not quite right. Struggled a bit on the hills in the last couple of miles. But very happy to have managed to complete the route on a very good course. Only downside today is I may have put myself out of the Snowdon race next week. Will have to rest up a few days and assess the situation.
45 mins along the riverside trails. 'Brisk' pace, verging on 'hard' at times
5 mile this morning on roads. (Well just about this morning I did it that late)
10 miles this evening on the moors. Nice day.
2mile club relay
bloody windy , 11.07
A bit of a plod.
Sat on my hotel balcony in Lake Placid ( site of Winter Olympic games in 1980) overlooking the lake that I have just run around. Hotel is full of guys and gals who completed the Lake Placid IronMan Tri yesterday.
Feel a bit inadequate next to these shaven legged freaks. Guy I spoke too did the Marathon leg in 3.31 and its a very hilly course too.
Lovely evening, fantastic place and stuning stunning views. I rather like it here
Once again - enjoy the rain;)
ajohns, I can report is has not rained here since I awoke 2 hours ago!!! Glossop is dry. Hopefully some summer weather today.
5 miles this morning.
Track later.
7.5 miles last night with the dog on the hills and I enjoyed it, first time for a while! :D
10 x 600m on the bloody track. Hate it with a passion.
Did about 7 400s on the track
:D 5 mile race last night.
It was good
i wouldn't have made it there in time anyway, as i didn;t finish work til 7 - thankfully the notts ac 5 is only 2 mins away from my work although I was still the last to register :D
actually though, I have started doing some earlier shifts now so might actually be able to do some mid week races :)
did alright thanks
*cough*47mins*cough* (well it's good for me!)
5 and a half miles race last night Harrock Hill - talk about muddy and more than a little bit slippy:eek: good course though but know what to expect next time;)
almost 7 miles this morning from Seatoller to Sty head tarn, up great gable, over to windy gap, etc etc back down into Honister.
Not ideal conditions - but then driving rain, howling winds and thick clag never are:rolleyes: glad we remembered the compasses!!
wow sounds a bit mad emmi (weather wise) fun though??
Good stuff Emmi.
Me, one and a half hours on the hills, mud, wet, rain. Lovely:)
Reckon I deserve a high GI splurge tonight!! Just put some rice pudding in the oven:) :)
5 miles am
Sale Sizzler 5k tonight. Warm up and down.
5mile up to Bolton Abbey and back on Dales Way. Head finally cleared after overdoing the Tim Taylors in Brett's Front room last night - Ram Tam;)
yes we did Mike - bit of a dilemma to find the right trod - very disorientating in that horrid condition, anyway, Huw seemed to think it was quicker and preferred it but I'm going to avoid as yes agree with you on the not as smooth as you think opinion!!
It was ok and is pretty runable but the time I get there i think my best option on tired legs is straight up as oppose to Moses. My ankle/ligament injury really took a battering on that trod and I'm suffering for it today:(
so sticking with plan A;)
Today's training involved learning how to use a hose pipe and dragging it up and down a very long garden!!
LOL
It also included fuelling up on jaffa cakes ready for my first Essex off road run tomorrow.. attempt 3 at finding the club
Good evening Hopey and Emm... hope your both ok
x
Will do!! Need to get back into it ready to try and follow the almost settled dust off your trail shoes at Yorskshiremans!!
lol

15miles in the woods with 5 mates. Legs are very very tired today (suppose the Rydal Round was reasonably hard two days ago).
Today was supposed to be the beginning of marathon training but we set off like it was a 5 mile time trial. Second lap was slower than first by a minute and by my third I was just too knackered to do owt other than briskly jog round to get the miles in.
60mins and 7seconds in the Woods of Essex.. very good kick up the pants for me!!
Really enjoyed it although felt like I'd never ran at times and felt a bit sick some of the way - I think that tells you enough!!
Great to be out in trails though - have really missed off roading - hopefully I can find a new training partner who'll help me back to fitness
