Used mudclaw 330's last year, took a bit of a beating but worth it, same again this year
don't wear trail shoes - stick to out and out fell shoes. I wore the new NB's last year (see avatar :) ) and although not perfect for the grassy bank and grip seemed a wee bit worse than the mudclaws on the loose stuff they keep out the crap thanks to the fancy wee collar thing and have a wee bit more cushioning for the road back.

And for the road bit I recommend........a skateboard

...and from the trig. I recommend a .....parachute. :)
