Another great weekend with some stunning weather. Thanks to Bill and all the CVFR helpers. Even though I was only a spectator the atmosphere is still worth travelling 200+ miles for. It was nice to meet a few old friends as well.

A quick word about this weekend's Midsummer Madness races:
In order to get permission to hold them, we are having to stick completely to paths. That means that Reservoir Bogs is a lot less wicked than it has been in past years. In fact it is almost benign. It will still be interesting, and definitely challenging, but the navigation element is lessened.
And there is a slight change to the Tom Tittiman route - it will take the path around Tom Tittiman rather than going over the top. The amended route is on the race page http://www.cvfr.co.uk/races/tom-tittiman/

Flippin eck Bill your technical wizardry never ceases to amaze, many thanks for all your efforts.
That climb up through the woods and across the field never gets any easier, it's a relief to hit the moor and climb the less savage gradient. The reward is a brilliant descent which tops off this cracking there and back blast.
Great to see the Woodheads taking photos, like they do on most of the races around these parts. I embarrassed Dave by bowing down before him mid race, after all he's fell royalty and rightfully so.
Well done Ben on his win. Fingers crossed he gets selected to represent England at Snowdon....he should hopefully get the call tomorrow.
Once again the red and white machine that is CVFR keeps marching on. If it wasn't for Toddy Ben, Stainland Jon and myself it would of been a top ten CVFR dominance. Really expect big things from the Calder guys this year...good luck.
