Can you ride a bike backwards like me:)
Printable View
No I mean a bike with gears. Impressed with the unicycle though
A bike with gears backwards? Downhill? Never tried... But when I used to play bike polo I rode the fixie backwards :)
And another turbo session done last night...
Got some normal blood tests back now, so I am doing a test tonight on the turbo to establish my lactate treshold... then it will be training properly from now on!
Two road rides planned for the weekend too, one shortish and easy, one longer and HILLY :):):)
Ooooh.. a fun night on the turbo!
Just had a great ride in flaky snow and pure sunlight :). No ill effects from the forced rest.
i cant wait for my new bike to arrive. managed 30 miles on the old bike last Sunday in the Dales. first exercise since I sprained my ankle 3 weeks ago and first time on the bike for 8 months. hope to be running again this week
Just joined Kent Valley Road Club in Kendal so will try a few time trials this summer and see how it goes.
Turbo tonight.....10 miles in 30 mins
Yep, turbo for me too, only I don't know the distance, I only look at time, efforrt and hr right now... Waiting to get my iMagic to work, so I can see my power output as well...
Distance seems a bit strange on a turbo...
155 so far this week, another 110 planned (and some miles running too!). Have even thought about doing a bit of racing
and another turbo session bites the dust... Hard one last night, hard one this am!
Rest day tomorrow and two road rides the weekend, whoop whoop! :)
Solid 2hrs up to Llanwonno, vvv cold on the top and put off by the sheets of ice at one point but survived:eek:
.....and that was after a 25 min run, well jog:eek::)
Planning to conquer the Garth(1000ft) before I get dismantled in 2wks, er...whoop, whoop...
Tell me when you are next riding Toff, I may be able to join you... :)
15m/2800ft on SS crosser, mostly off road and shouldering bike on all the ups, nice warm-up for lakes trip tomorrow.
62miles for me into the Peak District, not too cold but very wet near the end of the ride.
The wind was quite strong as well but a tail wind to bring me home which is rare but when its there you bloody take it dont you.
Loads of climbing and it amazes me how many TOURISTS there was walking around Matlock Bath.:o.
Was on the rourke with deep rims, err got a bit dicey at 40mph with the wind.
Passed a nice Mercian tandem and said hello. You dont see many of those knocking about.
I hope you're getting Campag on this Mercian??
Yes indeed mate
The Velocheeeeeeeeeeee groupset will be taken off the Bianchi frame and re used.
I dont think Mercian like using Shimano anyway. Years ago I think they was one of the main dealerships for Campag parts comimg into the UK.
Veloche is bullet proof. Ive had nothing major in thousands of miles with this groupset. I might put new cables on it thats all.
I dont have anything much against shimano but the levers are all to cock thats why i dont use em.
Veloce???? You need at least Chorus for a Mercian?
Shitmano looks much better now the Maccy D cables are hidden.
To be honest ive had more niggles with the chorus carbon groupset on my rourke than the veloce.
That and if I get chorus I will be lynched.
Ive got Centaur brake calipers mind , haha.
The chorus constantly needs adjusting with the barrel screw. Think I need a new cable.
I'm thinking about upgrading my steel roadie with carbon forks, new wheels and a new groupset...
Although I might have accidently bought a new car... :o
A CAR???? Dom, how could you... Think of all the bikes you could have bought in stead?
Mind, my best bike is worth a lot more money than my car lol!!!!
Did about 50 kms and a little under two hours on the roadbike today, with my new coach... He came along to make sure I wasn't going to push myself... And what does he do??? Indeed, push the pace a little along a flattish section of fast undulating road! Loved it though and was happy to tuck in behind him in the wind :)
Bring on tomorrows ride :)
I took me sister (11) and cousin (lad,13) out for a short bike-ride yesturday.
They both seriously lack confidence and have no idea how to road works, but i think they enjoyed themselfs...they got abit muddy anyway because i couldnt resist living the country lanes for some dirty tracks.:D
YESSSSS! Definitely back... Had a brilliant ride today!
60 miles, 3hrs 38 minutes including one stop for a quick munch of an energy bar and being chucked off the bike by a silly driver  thankfully, a soft landing in the MUD grrrrrr... so riding time probably more like 3 hrs 33... ah well! Lovely weather, brilliant views, fantastic countrylanes to ride along... Some flat, some undulating and some hilly sections, just under 2000 ft of elevation tackled, all in the third hour :o
VERY happy with that, even though I can feel my legs!:)
Two rest days now, before a ramp test on Wednesday eve...
Good effort Han
I did my 1st ride of the year this afternoon. Just short of 15 mile in just over an hour.
Rode with my new cycling shoes and pedals, never used em before always had toe straps.
Found them good when working hard but a little difficult to get used too when out of the saddle.
Okay just bouncing up the thread
No ride yesterday
Just shaved my legs and rubbed oil on them:)
Well, I am off to the track this afternoon, first time in about a year... Slightly apprehensive, especially as my bliddy arm decided to play up again last nigth GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Well just popped into mercian to pay off another £100 on my frame and forks.
I am very tempted to have the rear stays in chrome halfway up and also the forks chromed halfway as well.
No ride for me but just ran 13miles
Ahhh, Daz, well... initially, being used to hairy fellrunners legs, I thought the shaven legs were odd... Now I find them strangely attractive :o
Well, I went to the track and it wasn't great but I found out that my left leg isn't engaging, so in a way it was good. Now working on that...
Did manage a solid three hours and almost 100 kms on Saturday, followed by a nice hilly 50 odd kms on Sunday, knocked off in 1.45, 5 minutes faster than the week before... and the last ride I was on my own, so harder to maintain a nice pace... Managed to get the leg to engage at times, which I think worked :)
Turbo tonight, as the weather was not conducive to riding this afternoon...
