From my own limited experience, I find Walshes are excellent on courses with steep wet grass where plenty of grip is needed. Apart from the Red Burn, most of the course is on path & rocks.
I opt for something with a little more ankle support and cushioning.

The more aggressive the better, but preferably something with good grip on wet rock too. I found the rock steps on the lower parts of the tourist path very slippery in 2007 in Gladiators. This is where a newish pair of Mudclaw 270s come into their own, but don't expect many more races from them.
