Just had a pint of Punk IPA in Brewdog in Manchester. One is never enough...
Friday had me drinking some rather badly kept real ale in a bloody chain pub that is shit at keeping beer, out with friends though so I had to visit, stupidly I always think it will be alright but it never is, should have played save with Guiness in hindsight.
Yesterday was a different matter, after watching hartlepool lose again, drowned my sorrows in the rat race ale house, cracking pub ( room ) , enjoyed many Gundog Brewery - American Cocker- what a pint that is  also dabbled with a few pints of Yorkshire IPA or something like that, from a brewery in Northallerton
Today im going to the opening of a friends new venture, Dr Phils ale house in Mboro, and im assured he has some cracking ales on, namely Trufitt - Erimus, one of my favs and Mordue IPA a belter of a drink aswell as others, its turning into a long weekend
you want to try and support Hartlepool jez, then see what you think :p
A Marstons Oyster Stout tonight (still on offer at Booths). Lovely stuff.
A Scarlet Fever by The Wild Beer Co in Friends of Ham, Leeds. Followed by 2 fine Ilkley Blacks. Then 2 halves of the best beer I have ever tasted. The Mayan Chocolate Chipotle Stout, from Ilkley, at 6.5 %. A stunning drop.
Goose Island bottled IPA, fantastic.
Guinness, my post race tipple of choice at the moment :D
Had a busy weekend with lots of different ales thrown in. Supping a few from the Tirril brewery whilst in Patterdale on Friday, trooper ale was decent, not so fussed on the white lion ale.
Had some Snecklifter on Saturday, not really my dab. Got back to Hartlepool in time for a couple of Windermere pale ales ( ironically enough :p ) at the Rat Race Ale House, one of my favorite beers.
Was in Newcastle yesterday and was supping some outstanding Ale at a few cracking venues. The Nothumbrian Blonde from the great Mordue brewery was particularly outstanding, as always. Also tried a couple of Buxton Gold, very decent but inferior in taste to the Northumbrian Blonde.
Whilst visiting the magnificent Tyneside Cinema I purchased a couple of Wylam, Loco no1's. Mighty fine brew, described as a lagered beer, similar in type to continental Beers. Outstanding drop 10/10 if you like light coloured beers  btw the film was fantastic too, Wadjda
2 cracking bottles last night. Yorkshire Blackout & the brilliantly named Monkmans Slaughter from Cropton Brewery. I remember getting leathered on that stuff with the father-in-law many years back.

Drinking some lovely stuff whilst up in Swaledale last couple of days, particularly Muker Silver, by the Yorkshire Dales brewing co. Farmers arms in Muker has to be one of the best pubs in the North like ;)
Incidently I've never been a fan of Black Sheep finding it a rather turgid brown beer, never finding it at all appealing and always disp by it. Until I had a couple at Keld Lodge the other night, it was kept in its finest condition and I guess its the first time ive tried it served as its meant to taste, rather good!
Got back to the Rat Race ale house in Hartlepool last night and they only happened to be serving some of my fav beers, Windermere pale Ale from the Hawkshead brewery and Hawksheads newish Cumbrian 5 hop, outstanding ales at their finest, needless to say had a good time ;)
Old P, then bottle of Bates Combined Harvest and Spring Goddess(?). The Bates stuff is all quiet nice. On offer at Aldi!!
Does a gallon of Boddingtons count?
A pint of Marstons Oyster Stout in Bar T'At. Well earned after 15 miles.
I need to stop drinking :closed:
But instead I enjoyed many a good pint of all sorts at The Fishermans Arms beer festival, Headland, Hartlepool.
Oakham Ale- Endless summer was about the finest
Unfortunately (!) the beer festival is on for another 2 days, not sure I'll make work on Tuesday
You have my sympathy, as I am also suffering with the Rhandirmwyn beer festival at my local pub - all of 300 yards away :D
Wish I could remember what I was drinking when we were turfed out at 1.00am, suffice to say it was "jolly good". Guess I shall have to continue supporting my local pub by going back for more today and tomorrow.
Retirement is hell!
several of the old crafty very good price at tesco at moment never seen it so cheap 4 bottles for 5
dinnertime - Saltaire : Pride (meh) apparently won a punters award recently.
evening - Brewdog : Punk IPA (good)
Technically it's 'Last night's real ale' - Tetley Cask - 2nd pint this week and it is a very nice drop!
A bottle of Batemans excellent Dark Lord followed by the truly stunning The Mayan chocolate chippotle stout from Ilkley Brewery. £3.20 a bottle, but money well spent !
Coniston - Bluebird Bitter preceded by a handful of Grolsch.
So yesterday me n a few mates undertook the Gallon Walk in the lovely Esk Valley. 8 pubs within 8 miles of hiking, a pint in each, simple. Almost all the pubs are belting Ale houses, with only the Station Tavern in Grosmont letting the side down with the quality or lack of it, of its ales.
Starting at the fantastic Board Inn, by the river in Lealholme at 1130 with a good steady pint of Marstons, New World Pale Ale. (4.0% described as pale, but not really)
Couple of picturesque mile down river to, The Arncliffe Arms in Glaisdale and the next port of call. A cracking pint of Guzzler (3.6% pale ale) from the York brewery. A hard spot too leave.
Onwards down river to Egton Bridge for round 3, and the cracking Horshoe Hotel. Kelham Island, Atomic Blondie. Awesome pint, strong stuff at 6.0% like and a bit brave so early in the day, but great stuff
Halt 4 was the Station Tavern in the honeypot of Grosmont, home of the Moors railway and throngs of visitors to ride the steam engines. We had some muck from the Robinsons brewery, Iron Maiden, trooper or something. Not kept well and poor drop. Onwards to little Beck Hole and the delectable Birch Hall Inn. A pint of their own brew, Beckwatter, nice enough dark coloured ale, strangely lacking in body considering the colour of it, but with a good after taste. We had to change plans to to us not having enough time to complete the 8, so we headed back to Grosmont where we had noticed a beer festival going on in the village church!!! Very surreal sipping pints in the graveyard, getting served within the church, cant recall what we all tried but was some cracking beers on tap.
So gallon later and it was time for the train home, cracking day out in North Yorkshire, fresh air and 8 jars makes a heady combination :w00t:
I can't compete with that Rev. But, following today's Yorkshire Vets Road Relays in Saltaire (don't ask), a pint of Guinness Extra Cold in The Crescent, Ilkley. Followed by a TT Landlord & a fine Ilkley Gold. The children are sleeping out, so that may not be the end of things.
An amazing De Molen Mout & Mocha Imperial Coffee Stout in Friends Of Ham, Leeds, tonight. 11.6% & £4.50 for half a pint !!! Followed up with a bottle of Sharps Doom Bar at home.
A bottle of Ilkley Mayan Stout followed by a cracking Yorkshire Blackout. Replacing fluids that the midges supped out of me whilst marshalling on the moors tonight. I look like I've got measles.
A Marstons Oyster Stout followed by a superb Wainwright from Thwaites.
A bottle of wainwright to start with then a bottle of Theakston Lightfoot now onto a bottle of Broughtons Greenmantle Ale and the night is still only young
Co ops finest 3 for me. Directrs, wytchcraft and hopping hare :w00t:
A Timothy Taylor Landlord & a Guinness in The Fleece, Addingham. Followed by a gold medal winning Hazelnut Coffee Porter from Saltaire Brewery in The Riverside Hotel, Ilkley. Very nice too.
Lovely pint of Golden Lightning (I think) mid-run this afternoon at the Robin Hood Inn near Gardoms Edge.... tasted all the better for being 14km into a 25km run.
couple of Strongarm from Camerons in the globe tonight, top notch
Guinness my usual post race tipple.
A few cans of Murphys draught tonight
Badgers, Fursty Ferrett. £2.80 for 2
So I felt obliged to sample 4.
And jolly good they were too.
Mrs sbrt's Bailieys Biscotti
Floating on top of Golden Hen. buuuuuurap! pffaaah!
Got some posh ales from http://www.therealaleshop.co.uk/norfolk/ for my birthday... Had 2 the other night... I was hammered. Very good they were :D
A cracking bottle of Lancaster Black stout tonight. Slipped down too easily. More may follow......
