Emma, Wednesday was a beautiful day up in Lancaster. Cloudless blue skies and sunshine, but I've been busy with my builder and I managed to give the somewhat neglected lawn a good mowing. I'm aiming to get down onto the Fylde today ( Thursday ), once the overnight frost has thawed, and get in a steady 40 - 50 miles of easy spinning, if you are ok to play out?Quote:

I did a quick wizz round some trails on the MTB Friday night, then ummed and ahhhd all Saturday if I should go and do the floodlit cross race... But the ribs were so sore Friday whenever I pushed, that I decided against it...
Went and picked up my Ti cross frame this morning in Cardiff Bay and did a bit of urban MTB-ing on the Qoroz 29er... I am in love! Now getting one for enduro and xc racing :)

Just completed the new Yorkshire Wolds Cycle route and can thoroughly recommend it. Scenic, 80% on roads where you rarely see a car. Good surfaces. Excellently signposted. 2hr journey from Manchester. Free car parking in Malton (St Nicholas St). Officially 146ml, just over 4000ft of climbing, but with errors and detours clocked 160. Has been done in a day, but at 66, and with only a few short cycle rides behind me recently (and still recovering from FRA relays), needed all of 2 days to make the most of it including over an hour spent at the RSPB center at Bempton Cliffs. Stayed overnight at Hutton Cranswick (White Horse Inn very reasonable with good food and excellent beer).
