Man on wire.To be honest, disappointed. Had heard such great reviews. Thought the film spent too long faffing around with stories like how they hid from a security man. The act, the walk, was the story. I presume it got all those awards because it reminded us all of the time this was big, it was in every non fiction book aimed at boys for a decade after, and then Copperfield and Blaine came along peddling nonsense and real spectacle (even when we had to imagine it) was forgotten.
I watched 'Leon' the other night. Our lass hadn't seen it! She liked it....
Just had 'A lonely place to die' out on DVD. Worth getting, you will especially enjoy the opening sequences if you have ever climbed on Rannoch Wall or done anything on the Buachille. Its a thriller, quite a high body count, but the climbing is reasonably authentic at least up to a point - in fact compared to many its positively accurate! - and if you can ignore some of the daft bits (every summer rock climbing group has a couple of snow shovels in their gear dont they?) I think you will enjoy it.
