Just thought I'd point out that the stream out of a tarn/reservoir/lake is not usually a good idea to drink as it's more likely to be contaminated, best to use the incoming stream only.Quote:

Can't remember what's before Esk Haus, but there's the spring shortly after it. There were cups of water at the Honister checkpoint last year, as well as people offering coca cola. Someone random was offering a swig of water at Sty Head. I did like the contrast with road races - where you don't normally get to swig from the same bottle as the 20 runners in front of you, nor do the cups of water usually have grass in :)Quote:

Rules as per Biara's reply and the procedure is the same whether you got your spare entry a month ago or the day before the race as I gave my entry to a clubmate a few weeks ago when I picked up an injury and I am still listed as a competitor. He will just turn up on the day and fill in the substitution form. I think you will have to present your friend's entry confirmation form though as proof.Quote:

crikey, people are dropping like flies! I'm trying not to get really nervous about tomorrow's race. I'd just like to get round in one piece and not get too lost. Maps marked up and fell shoes at the ready:)
Logistics have gotten the better of me Hes. I've put it off until the last minute, but even I can't be in two places at once.
Right then - loaded up the car, just cut my toenails (let me know if you think that is too much info :o) and just about to start carbo loading.
Ambitions for tomorrow - not go walkabout on the summit of England unlike last year, get to Honister before 3:29, finish the goddam race-this is my 3rd attempt - surely my time must come. I'll be up for 1 of Dalesides/fellrunning briefs motivational high fiving at each checkpoint.
Anyone stopping over ie camping tomorrow night ? Don't normally camp but rather than drive all the way back home in 1 day though what the heck-hopefully the beer / time on my feet will mean I get a decent night's kip.
