A stupendous bottle of Shepherd Neame Double Stout from Asda followed by the ever reliable Timothy Taylor Landlord.
Tonight's real ale consisted of a bottle of half price champagne in The Crescent, Ilkley. Yes, I am embarrassed. But £17.50 for a cracking bottle of fizz ! On second thoughts, I'll get my coat.
After Langdale, I am so I will :D

I must admit, I think the detox is flushed through now. Feel great, time to start mildly poisoning myself again soon? :p
Its a cultural thing.
5 pints of Guinness on Saturday night after watching The Brownlee Brothers at The Ilkley Literature Festival. On Sunday I had the worst hangover of my life. Never, ever again.
Was in Dublin recently and a friend went native. Discovered the joys of the Guinness hangover the next morning. Always fun to say I told you so.Quote:

99p at Home Bargains !! And it's the proper stuff brewed in Ireland. Picked up 6 today. Be warned though, it's 7.5% !
excellent. might have to get myself down to HB!
I've had a couple of cans of Big Swell IPA recently, excellent stuff.
and
a St. Peters Honey Porter. quite strange, honey flavour very much to the fore with a fairly standard porter in the background.
In my loca(ish) "Offy" in Otley today. He was trying to tempt me with these, but I declined:

4 bottles of at £3.20 per bottle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mrs SFG came home with 5 bottles of 99p GFES from Home bargains. well chuffed.
I haven't sampled the Chipolte yet, but it's on the hit list. I have had the Treacle one, didn't rate it. far too sweet and not enough depth.
A bottle of chipotle stout followed by the ever reliable Wainwright ale. Fully deserved after The Chevin Chiller headtorch race tonight !
SFG, I once got completely wasted on treacle stout on a works leaving do. Never again. I mean, treacle in beer ?!?!?!
I have got a few bottles of Bateman's 'Dark Lord' in for the Arsenal - Liverpool match tonight.
2 bottles of wainwright
A Daleside Old Leg Over last night in The Cow & Calf following a little headtorch run on Ilkley Moors. Not the best ale I've had 6/10. But more worryingly I have come to the conclusion that I need to splash out on a better headtorch. The Missus will be delighted.
I notice Morrisons had stocked up with their winter ales when I was in there today. I picked up a couple of bottles of Bateman's 'Rosey Nosey' an old favourite of mine.
Ossett - Mo'vember FFS. ehy did I even bother.
Roosters - Astro, single hopped with Galaxy. very decent.
Roosters - Fort Smith. sumptuous.
Jez, I managed to pick up a bottle of The Mayan. Looking forward to that.
