I quite fancy doing the next race in burnley this weekend, can anyone enter these races. I run for sale, so not affliated to the league.

Yes, the Mid Lancs League kicks off on Saturday, it must be one of the biggest leagues in the country now - could be 250+ Senior Men on Saturday.

Details and course map.
Hope it's a good day.

Witton, the Chiltern XC League first meeting had 336 men complete the course which is I believe a record. Interesting how these fixtures appear to be getting more popular...although myself and the other oldies accounted for nearly 200 vets in the field!!

I'll be there on saturday. I see the course is the same flat affair as last year. Lets all do 3 laps of a playing field. You could have such a good course there with all the woods and that but no we have to run round the playing fields

The Cumbria XC league is growing in popularity as well. 19 Senior men at the first one at Cockermouth but 24 at the second one at Penrith

Just to let you know, there is an alternative course. Burnley AC run it and they used to alternate with Clayton.
Trouble is - no one left at Burnley to host - so maybe Clayton could adopt their route every other year?

I know how hard it is organising races been there done that etc etc It would be nice to have a more interesting/challenging course. Leyland is always intersesting specially when I toof a bath int he river having been knocked in by a stray branch :o
