'Easy' bit that must be the car park in Edale as i don't recall an easy bit. Ha Ha.
Has anyone proposed a start time and RV for this on Sunday please? Sorry I haven't had chance to check all the threads. I'm hoping to cycle up to avoid the parking issues. Please don't say Mam Nick. My old road bike doesn't have enough gears for me to get up there without sacrificing a lung.:(
Had a steady run round the flat bit this morning from Mam Nick to the finish, then climbed back out of Edale to the van. Fresh overnight snow and the odd burst of sunshine made for beautiful views, if a little slippy underfoot.
Followed a pair of inov8 roclites on all the main paths (but not the short cuts) but still didn't see the owner. BK is very runnable at the moment and with the weather looking to stay cold at night you may be lucky or unlucky enough to follow my tracks on Sunday.
May join in for a bit of fun, see what the day brings...
10.30  No way I could start that late, BUT....that aside, I'm afraid I can't make it now. Sorry. :(
Son's coach has contacted us, there is a rugby tournament on sunday and Ol is in the 1st team and it's only right and proper I go and support (and wince) as my baby continues working on the cauliflower ears :o
Mrs Stagger also can't make it as Stagger has apparently been 'running' ;)
Have fun guys and girls.
Went round the first half on Wed in the fog, following half a dozen pairs or so of fell shoe prints in the snow (thanks for that, whoever you are). Did the second half on Thursday in fresh snow and fog. Lots of compass work necessary with vis under 100 yards, but there was no wind and the ground is nice and hard. Came down with frozen hair and eyebrows in yeti fashion, having got to know the area around Grindslow Knoll and above Ringing Roger in rather more detail than I wanted!
Did those waterproof Edale Skyline maps ever come to fruition that have been mentioned in previous years you know like the ones you can get for the anni waltz and bgr and other races. Just stops a lot of messing around with map or computer printer at home. Also has anybody got any pictures right from the beginning of the race to ringing roger and the other summits and checkpoints to the finish as my brother is doing the race but this is his first fell race and due to work he is a running coach and where he works he is going to struggle to recce. I don't have any photos and he wont be going round with me as he is about 100 times faster than me so i can't guide him. I know I shouldn't ask others but i can't help him other showing route on map and he's my younger brother so i've got my Big brother hat on.
