Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday, but a couple of formalities just to mention now.
Looking at the BBC forecast for Sunday shows grey cloud for the area. Going by the usual accuracy of these forecasts this could mean blazing sunshine or a class 5 hurricane. Could I just remind people to turn up with standard fra kit (pertex type waterproofs will be fine), if the weather is looking bad we may enforce kit checks at the start.
Second, although the path we use at the start of the race is a public right of way, it passes through private farmland. The landowners have asked, that before the race, to make sure we stay on the path and do not use the fields either side for warming up. If people want to warm up on a slope they are welcome to run up and down Lightside which is just next to the race start.
Many thanks
Gordon
No worries.
How would i go about getting there from Glossop town centre
Or could anyone give me a lift from Glossop train station or Mossley area
From Glossop town centre, head out on High St East towards Sheffield. At The Commercial pub turn left onto Manor Park road. I will be putting signs from the top of Manor Park Road pointing towards registration.
More detailed instructions are on the Glossopdale website,

The page

has a GoogleMaps link so you can zoom in to work out directions from the Station.

I ran this race when it was a championship race in 2004, and my first time up there since was on Monday as NVMM was playing Cricket in Glossop which gave me a chance to play out. I'd forgotten how tough the route is.
Took the opportunity to have a look at a couple of the aircraft wreck sites (James Thorn Lancaster and Shelf Moor Superfortress) - sobering.
Has anyone a map for the route or grid refs?
I fancy running it when the knee mends.
Many thanks
Hi Stagger, small map here, should be enough to work out the details:

Cheers Rich:)
That'll do nicely. I am now looking at races for next year. AM will be my Max and only a couple of them towards the end of 2010.
